This sounds fun. Hopefully this satisfies the requests for a Livewire-centric title, and will lead to more.

Re: Arrival Screenwriter Launching Superhero Comic for Valia
This is a coup for VEI.
A series based around Livewire written by the writer of Arrival should be awesome, as well as introspective.
I think this will be a good indicator as to the general tone we will get in the Bloodshot and Harbinger movies.

Re: Arrival Screenwriter Launching Superhero Comic for Valia
The only thing I am not pumped about is that it's just a mini. Yea, big things have come from mini's, but I would have liked this to be a bit longer/larger. Regardless, this is going to be an amazing mini!

Wow, I'm getting a distinct David Aja panelling vibe with the art on this. i.e. Hawkeye....which I loved!

Rex-O appeared in Harbinger #3 (1992), right?

I'm not crazy about the art. We shall see. The cover to #1 looks amazing.

I'm looking forward to this one. The art in the panels with Bird Girl look amazing, but then drops off a little in the other panels.

The writer sounds very passionate about the work. That is always a good start. I look forward to checking it out.

Re: Arrival Screenwriter Launching Superhero Comic for Valia
I agree. A very good way to start. I wish we had another ongoing title instead of a mini, but maybe we can try it out as a mini and with enough support (assuming it will deserve support), it can become an ongoing like Faith did. Time will tell.FormerReader wrote:The writer sounds very passionate about the work. That is always a good start. I look forward to checking it out.

Re: Arrival Screenwriter Launching Superhero Comic for Valia
Weird thought... I wonder if Rexo is some kind of genetic manipulation of pieces from Mr. Twist from the first Shadowman (2012) issues.

Re: Arrival Screenwriter Launching Superhero Comic for Valia
Loving the look & tone of the art for this - I'm generally a fan of everything Raul Allen has done so far at Valiant and this looks to be more of the same goodness.
The concept of using some 'discarded' psiots who have seemingly useless powers reminds me of the remedial class of X-Men concept from Grant Morrison's run on New XMen, which I loved. Not that I'll be comparing Secret Weapons to that when it comes out, but I really like the core idea of it.
It is a shame this will just be another mini-series... I think I'm getting a little bit of mini-series fatigue, haha! (Won't be stopping me from checking this out )

Re: Arrival Screenwriter Launching Superhero Comic for Valia
I "guess" this is "cool", if its a well-crafted story, but I'm not feeling the character designs at all or the fact that it is another mini.
I had other expectations for this- like a new ongoing with underused characters and a more adult tone. Maybe i'm being overly negative, but meh. Just not that excited now that I know what this is, but VEI proved me wrong in the past many times.
Let's see.

Re: Arrival Screenwriter Launching Superhero Comic for Valia
I'll give it a chance but the characters other than Livewire don't really excite me. It frustrates me that VEI has so many characters out of circulation as it is, and these will most likely end up the same. It's fine that they're not making this another Unity, but it just doesn't feel like it will carry the same gravity as that team did.
