UPDATE
http://www.bleedingcool.com/2016/08/29/ ... nd-savage/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Not sure what to think about this tbh. I hope its not just Ninjak fighting another Valiant hero each episode. That would just be boring. And some of the said heros are just odd picks. I really hope there will be more substans to it.

Re: Valiant casting for secret project??
Um Ninjak is on the run? And he faces xo and Divinity.
They should be able to end Ninjak pretty quick. Yay this will make for an Interesting first rendition of the charaters. Xo will either make or break it. Very possible xo looks dumb.
I'm very excited for this. Anyone on instagram and seen the picture of the xo ring?? This really saddens me because in fall of xo no ring was mentioned at all in the passing on of the armor.

Re: Valiant casting for secret project??
Now that news is out, I can say a little bit.
Bat in the Sun guys are good friends of mine. Most beatdown episodes are shot in our valley store (the intro and outro scenes). Aaron has been a customer in our store since he was a kid. You could say I was partially responsible for VEI hooking up with them, at least in a way of introductions, and constantly showing Dinesh their videos
I have seen some of this new stuff, and if you watch Superpower Beatdown, you know the quality of work. Now imagine a bigger budget and you can imagine what they could do with that. One scene literally made me drop my jaw. You will believe in real life VEI characters. Wish I could say more.

Re: Valiant casting for secret project??
I've seen a few episodes, they are fun.
Ya know, anything Valiant puts out will be met with some type of scrutiny outside their fan base. Yea, we all wanted more, but this is something that will be fun and entertaining.
At this time, I will take anything they do and judge them on the product in and of itself, not on what I would hope or wish for. I would love a TV show, I really want a movie, but I will take this and digest it, if not simply to have fun. I choose to be entertained, and I think I will be.
I'm looking forward to any production they put out, this will be fun!

Just watched one of these episodes for the first time, was impressed with the quality, over 1 million views too! This should be interesting once the VEI stuff comes, surely this will lead to a bump in readership?paradise wrote:Now that news is out, I can say a little bit.

Deadpool made $800,000,000 at the box office.Dallow Spicer1 wrote:Just watched one of these episodes for the first time, was impressed with the quality, over 1 million views too! This should be interesting once the VEI stuff comes, surely this will lead to a bump in readership?
Deadpool #3 arrived two months before the Deadpool movie: 72,000 copies
Deadpool #10 arrived two months after the Deadpool movie: 64,000 copies
So... ummm... I don't think any conclusions can be drawn about millions of viewers leading to increased readership.

But how many copies of Deadpool volume 1 tpb were sold? Of course which volume 1 is a whole other question.greg wrote:Deadpool made $800,000,000 at the box office.Dallow Spicer1 wrote:Just watched one of these episodes for the first time, was impressed with the quality, over 1 million views too! I don't think Valiant mass media will create many completely new traditional comic book readers, but maybe some Marvel/DC readers will actually give Valiant a chance and see what they've been missing. I think completely new readers are more likely to buy tpbs or digital.

Re: Valiant casting for secret project??
Interesting, but not the news I was hoping to hear. Is this the only big announcement coming from NYCC, or is there more movie/tv news to come? If this is it, then I'm slightly disappointed. Also, will this series of videos be canon for whatever cinematic universe VEI eventually creates? Will these be the same actors to play the same roles later on? This is another area that I hope VEI copies Marvel in - keeping the cinematic universe and the TV universe in the same canon/same world. Unlike DC, whose new movie Flash is invalidating the seasons of love I have for the TV Flash on CW.
Here's hoping.

Most likely this is an opportunity to visually display Valiant IP to a HUGE slice of the population who otherwise might NOT have either been exposed previously, or even aware of what Valiant has to offer.Phoenix8008 wrote:Interesting, but not the news I was hoping to hear. These videos pull about a million views, and even if only 1% of those views lead to the creation of new readers and fans, that is an additional +10,000 people.
Additionally, while stories are great, investors, financers, and producers generally would prefer to actually SEE a character in action, as well as the general public response to that character in action before committing resources to film projects and development.
We saw Deadpool, Harley Quinn, and Superman/Batman concepts on YouTube before we saw them on the big screen
This is that step.

Re: Valiant casting for secret project??
I get that, and I'm not against it. I just know that if VEI is going to hit their previously announced release of 2017 for a Bloodshot movie, this is about the limit of when they can announce something and still get it done in time. I don't know if there is more news to come at NYCC, I'm just hoping there is more.DirtbagSailor wrote:Most likely this is an opportunity to visually display Valiant IP to a HUGE slice of the population who otherwise might NOT have either been exposed previously, or even aware of what Valiant has to offer.Phoenix8008 wrote:Interesting, but not the news I was hoping to hear. Re: Valiant casting for secret project??
Let's just say it now. There is not going to be a Bloodshot movie in 2017. They'd have to start pre-production probably no later than November or December of this year just to comfortably hit a late 2017 release. And there is nothing out there to indicate that is happening. It's not even listed on the IMDB page of the John Wick directors, so I think it's safe to say there will be no Bloodshot movie next year.Phoenix8008 wrote:I get that, and I'm not against it.
