Thanks for offering this book. I didn't figure my offer would make it, but it's what I could scrape together on such short notice.
GLWTS and congrats to the lucky buyer!

This is what I don't understand. That's the price of a unity golden ticket. There are only 5 of those. I know your correct on the range but I don't get why the unity golden ticket is under valued compared to bloodshot 0 platinum.michael wrote:my guess is in the $1200-1500 range.. It will be interesting to see what happens. The last CGC 9.6 sold for around 1250 if I remember correctly.THEWGZK wrote:I believe it's on ebay now with a price tag of 3K.Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/142023907220" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Unique items like the Unity golden tickets have a different market. For example, original art is both unique and hand-created by professionals... and some is $50.Intrepidxc wrote:This is what I don't understand. That's the price of a unity golden ticket. Bloodshot 0 Platinum has a market where a small community can own a copy. That community, and those wishing to join, can interact with each other... and the market can see activity... without actually having their own copy change hands.
It's impossible for unique items to have a community, since there is only one owner. Additionally, decades can go by where there is zero activity.
It's lonely if you're the owner. It's too quiet if you're not.
There's a sweet spot in collectibles... but it's not in unique items. It's more than one and less than too many.
It's like the difference between climbing a mountain completely alone (unique) or having lots of buddies join you on the same climb (limited community) and reminisce together for years after.
Which trip would you pay more to experience?

A 9.6 copy was sold last November / December timeframe for $2,100 as I recall. They still do not sell often, and typically sell quick when available.

I'd personally climb the mountain alone, but I'm a bit off anyway. Regardless your point is taken and is a great explanation.greg wrote:Unique items like the Unity golden tickets have a different market. Good luck with the sale, this book is out of my budget for sure, but I hope you get lots to fund your con buys.
Where are we going and why am I in this hand-basket?

Re: Make An Offer: Bloodshot #0 Platinum Error Edition CBCS
I would place this well below a cgc copy.
Cgc has a good number of what I would call "elite" collectors that are willing to pay a premium because there is a competitive registry that they participate in.
Since that does not apply to cbcs at the moment the book loses that market edge and is remanded to a slightly different and often less extreme collectors market.
I would personally place the market value of this cbcs slab anywhere between $800-$900 minimum and $1600 depending on how long you are willing to wait to sell.

Agreed, I think this would grade less as a CGC...in case you're curious, I submitted a best offer of 1000, but was declined. Thought that was fair for a CBCS that appears to be an 8.5 CGC, IMHODirtbagSailor wrote:I'd pay $800-$900 this very second.

I agree that the CGC registry encourages higher prices for books. Folks get riled up, it seems, when competing with others. However, I believe the current version of the CGC case is faulty and I would not risk any of my books nor would I sell any book in one of these holders.Aram wrote:I would place this well below a cgc copy.

Re: Make An Offer: Bloodshot #0 Platinum Error Edition CBCS
Thanks for your opinion. I believe both CBCS and CGC have competent graders and trust both with assigning a proper grade to a book. I don't buy into the opinion that CGC is somehow tougher on books than CBCS. I know many people do. Examples can be shown from both companies that show overgraded/undergraded books. I understand CGC books can, many times, bring higher sales prices than CBCS but I currently do not feel comfortable keeping or selling any book in their current holder. I appreciate your offer and all the offers I have received thus far, I truly do.unityshadowman wrote:Agreed, I think this would grade less as a CGC...in case you're curious, I submitted a best offer of 1000, but was declined. I don't think any chromium cover book has ever graded below a 9.4. They're indestructible!unityshadowman wrote:Thought that was fair for a CBCS that appears to be an 8.5 CGC, IMHO
I believe it's a 9.6. CBCS is legit.
