Re: Valiant Summit: What new title are you most excited abou
wow ... this was really tough for me to pick 2
So many great choices for top 2
Here are my picks
#1 -- Generation Zero
I love the potential of this title; I love the potential of these characters.
I fell in love with these characters during Harbinger Wars ... and the AH mini.
Fred Van Lente is right up there with Dysart as my favorite VEI writer.
And I enjoy Portella's work.
#2 -- Britannia
This title was not what I was expecting and that is what has got me so intrigued.
This might end up being a major disappointment. Milligan's VEI work has been up and down.
But I am fascinated with the chance they are taking on this book -- it seems very different. And I like that.
JJR is one of my new favorite artists at Valiant -- And the pages i've seen so far for this title - look gorgeous.
#3 -- Divinity III: Stalinverse
I love alternative history storytelling -- I think it gives a writer a chance at some imaginative, thought provoking philosophical and political insights. I recently enjoyed watching Man in the High Castle -- I think this will give me similar enjoyment while providing some superpowered fun.
#4 -- Harbinger: Renegades
Peter Stanchek and The Renegades are some of my favorite characters ... but I'm hesitant about the creative team and the direction. I'm still excited ... but i'm lowering my expectations.
#5 -- Savage
The character design is pretty wicked ... and Dino's are cool. Clayton Henry and Larosa are both great artists -- and an interesting combo. Clayton is very clean and consistent... and Larosa is very gritty and breathtaking at times
#6 -- Faith
Loved the mini and excited about the new ongoing. It was already known before the Summit so excitement not as great.
#7 -- Bloodshot U.S.A
Excited for this story ... but I feel like this is just the next arc for the ongoing title.

Anyone know if Bloodshot USA is in addition to Bloodshot Reborn, or is BSR ending/pausing?
Interested in order...

My guess is that Reborn will be on pause ...and the rebirth will resume after the limited series is over.

Gen Zero and Harbinger for me, I can't wait, dysart or not, these have me really excited.
Where are we going and why am I in this hand-basket?

I voted Britannia and Savage because these are new books, and other stuff while it looks intriguing is more or less a continuation of what we've seen before. Not saying these new books are original, just saying that I have no expectations and I kinda like that when I pick up a new series.

Re: Valiant Summit: What new title are you most excited abou
Britannia and Bloodshot USA (despite the title, which sounds silly- but i get it, it makes sense)- one is a really strange and new thing that I'm very curious about and the other is the follow-up to a series that i'm enjoying.
FVL's Gen 0 gets a 3rd vote. Don't care about the characters that much, but it's one of the OG architects in a different corner of the universe. I'm curious, at least.

As a new reader and a fan of Peter Milligan, I am interested in Britannia and how they are eventually going to link the story to the Valiant Universe as a whole.
I also loved Red Son back in the day, so a whole Soviet-themed Valiant universe interests me.
Savage seems kind of out there when I heard the pitch and Bloodshot USA sounds like a zombie apocalypse style story.

Books I'm Looking Forward To:
- Bloodshot
- Divinity
I'm fairly apathetic about the other titles to be honest, at the moment. I'm sure I'll enjoy reading them once I get my hands on them, but in terms of expectation and excitement I'm just not that stoked by any of the other titles
“BLOODSHOT WAR’ really was the natural evolution of all the storylines I'd been doing in Bloodshot Reborn since issue #1. It's where "Colorado", "The Analog Man" and "Bloodshot Island" naturally led me. The 'event' aspect came later when Warren and the gang at Valiant realized how big the scope of the story was,” Lemire said. “So this is a genuine case of putting story first.”

Dino's said that BS:R and BS:USA won't run concurrently. According to statement by Lemire it looks like BS:R is being replaced by BS:USA, and then presumably continuing after BS:USA as 'BS:Something Else', as it'd seem a bit odd to put a book called BS:R back on the shelf again following a four month hiatus and canonical mini with a different title, plus, I'm sure VEI wouldn't miss the chance to put a new #1 on the shelfDallow Spicer1 wrote:Anyone know if Bloodshot USA is in addition to Bloodshot Reborn, or is BSR ending/pausing?

Re: Valiant Summit: What new title are you most excited abou
Video was enlightening. Do they do one every year? My takeaway is I'm intrigued and excited about the vision and what seems to be cohesiveness of the creative team. I'm not a huge Faith fan, it's not my thing, but I do think I figured something out that Dinesh supported. Dysart took her character in a different direction than VH1 had. It created an opportunity. My gut is that she is the likely key to pulling fans en masse to Valiant in the long run. There's something about her character that's fresh and endearing. I suspect Aric, Peter, Bloodshot, Rai, Gilad, Ninjak, Shadowman, Toyo, Dr. Mirage, Divinity...none have as much potential to launch Valiant into mainstream consciousness the way Faith does. She has an ability to be the narrator of our dreams. Peter Parker is probably the closest thing I can think of.

...also, my guess is Dysart is out of the equation for now. Van Lente is great, but isn't Dysart a no-brainer for a Gen Zero run? I think that's almost a redundant question.
