Re: Faith #3 Discussion
I'm loving this book, it has enough connection to the larger Valiant universe that it doesn't feel like it's happening in isolation. what could have been just fluff is moving Faith's story and character forward, I think the writers of the Supergirl TV series could learn a thing or two on how to properly handle a superhero in an office setting. I'm sad that next issue is the last one.

Re: Faith #3 Discussion
Yes, YES, YES!! So glad that the bad guys in this one are the Vine, and not some no-name, 'never heard of them before and will never hear from them again after this mini', villain of the week (like in Dead Drop)!
Loved the inclusion of @x, Archer, and Torque getting pulled in deeper. Hoping that the tirade which the planting trows at Torque before he's knocked out sinks in some and he takes it to heart. Seeing a LITTLE bit of character development for him would be great. Especially if their gearing up for another Harbinger series after Imperium ends.
I also loved the way Faith handled the bad guys in her office - decision between saving people and revealing her identity? No question. Loved turning that Superman-esque trope on it's head. Can't wait for issue #4!

Re: Faith #3 Discussion
It's the VINE!! UGH!! They're like, the Hand, or Hydra for Marvel, and I don't care for either of those factions. On another note, I love Faith and Archers friendship, and even though we know where it will eventually lead, it'll be nice seeing it play out over time.

This is so good, doesn't feel like a mini, it feels like an arc in an ongoing... Here's hoping!!

Really enjoyable issue and loved the Vine Planting inclusion, another example of how the Valiant U is connected (although some seem to maintain it isn't?

My expectations of this book aren't as high as XO, Imperium etc so perhaps that's why I've found it a surprisingly good read each issue.
The art suits the book too although I wouldn't want Portela on XO, Rai or any of the 'grittier' books.
4/5 looking forward to part 4

This issue was great! I can't wait for the final issue to see how everything wraps up. I think the highlight for me was Faith and Archer's conversation. I'm loving their relationship and am looking forward to how it develops further down the line.
Honestly, Jody Houser has been knocking it out of the park on this book. The writing has been superb and she seems to understand these characters so well. I would love to see her on an ongoing.

Re: Faith #3 Discussion
I gotta admit, I'm not feeling this title. And I don't know why. It feels kinda... formulaic. There were moments in this issue that reminded me of Busiek's Ninjak run.
Is it my imagination or were there three consecutive pages each with a different artist?
I think, maybe, I'm struggling with it as "soft" superhero. Or with Faith as a lead. I dunno.

Re: Faith #3 Discussion
I just saw on the back of this weeks Ninjak #14, the ad for this Faith mini's TPB which shows the arc title as "Hollywood and Vine"! Thought that was hilarious! I don't recall hearing or seeing a name for the arc before that and it struck me as very funny. Glad they didn't advertise the arc name from the start, it would have given away who the bad guys were.

Especially concerning her revealing her secret identity.
That genuinely surprised me.
How many times have we seen Spiderman, Superman, etc. in this same situation and they came up with a way to keep their identity secret and still save the day?
For Faith, it wasn't even a choice. Lives are more important than her secret.
Truly heroic.
