It's very different that's for sure. But i actually like it alot! I am definitely interested to see what this suit is all about and what has happened since end times.

I am salivating to find out what happened to Jack after End Times! It's pretty well established that Jack was the only thing keeping Darque from returning to Earth. I was expecting Darque to come back in a big way, as was his goal in #5-9/trade vol. 2. The fact that he just showed up on that kid's doorstep in BoD #2 & 3 wearing his 3-piece suit really threw me off! If he was gonna come back to Earth, I was expecting him to kick the door in, not sneak in and then start a plan. Why? Couldn't he just reform the tree of souls and come back with an army of Eaters again? Not complaining, just super interested to find out the rest of the details!

As for the new suit, the restraints suggest that Jack is not just hopping to as Darque's willing servant, and that is probably a very good sign if you're hoping for Jack to be redeemed after killing his father.

Also not mentioned recently: Sandria. She hasn't been seen in VEI continuity since the 1800s. You know she's still out there! I suppose we'll have to wait for a full-blown Shadowman ongoing before we find out what's up with her. Aargh, Shadowman blue-balls!

The glow-in-the-dark covers are a significant selling point for me: the more freaky & gimmicky the covers, the better!

I really like this look. Just think, Jack is in bad place both literally and mentaly following the events of End Times. He's bound to be unhinged, unstable and unpredictable (sorry for the un's). This costume design lends itself toward that approach. Will be very interesting to see how this arc plays out.

I was thinking the same thing about Darque after his return in Book Of Death & also in Ninjak. I was expecting him to have made a bigger splash initially than what we see in Ninjak, although if he does successfully steal the geomancers powers, he will do a hell of a lot of damage according to what we're seeing in BoD...

And I'm really wanting to see Sandria back as well. Sincerely hope this Operation Deadside storyline does lead to a new Shadowman ongoing again!

Going from the apparent damage on the gear, I'd assume Jack. He's made a deal with Darque and Darque obviously doesn't trust Jack so he's got him chained up. And from the looks of things he's lost and replaced a hand in the time he's been gone.
