top 3 covers....a spin off from "its started" :)
ok....your fav 3 covers...and why (if you want)...
in no particular order:
xo #10 - striking cover, gets your attention...reminds me of solar 7...the stark white background really makes it stand out. the cover totally makes you excited about reading the book (especially if youve just read #9
)
rai #21 - see above.
magnus #21 - looking at this cover, you know the whole world is about to be turned upside down.
ok, who's next?

Well, IMHO...its hands down Solar# 10! 8)
At first one might think? "moron, there is NOTHING on the cover of Solar#10"...yes, that would indeed be correct of course. However, ultimately, that IS the reason I picked it to begin with.
Black as a color, can mean and convey a myriad of things. The striking nature of "Black" always catches the eye, even motivates, perhaps causes fear, but without a doubt, curiosity
For pure simplification of creation, as well as uber effect, I think Solar#10 was the most memorable, and best cover of the Valiant books
But *SQUEE*, what do I know
Ooops, I should know better than to curse at least

That's just freaky. I was considering making a 'fav Valiant cover' topic too. Weird.
Anyhoo...
Harbinger #4. Simple, but powerful. One of the best Valiant covers of all time.
Unity #0. For obvious reasons. Overexposed, but still, bar none, one of the best covers ever.
Rai #0. Again, terribly overexposed and overused, but the original knocked the SOCKS off of everyone when it came out.

One of the first pages I created in 1999 was my
Top 10 Favorite Pre-Unity Covers page...
Here are my picks at the time...
http://www.valiantcomics.com/valiant/Top10.asp
I'm not sure how they would change today...
But I've never done an "all Valiant" list, just a pre-Unity list...
Hmmm...

My top 3 are in order:
Unity 0 just cuz it is AWESOME!!!!
Harbinger 1 was the first comic I spent 30 bucks on (i was 12) and I
actually have a 27 x 41 poster that a friend in the printing industry made for me so I can look at it all the time. I also have the unity 0 promo poster on display.
I always liked Harbinger 7 ? The one with flamingo at torque's grave.
Runners up are XO 1,5,7
Solar 1,7
Rai 1,5
Archer and armstrong 0,1
I cant think of any others without looking at my collection.

I can't pick only 3 so here are a few of my favorites
Rai 3 http://www.valiantcomics.com/valiant/issue.asp?cn=468
To this day I don't think any cover has caught my attention like it did.
Predator vs Magnus 1 http://www.valiantcomics.com/valiant/issue.asp?cn=428
You just feel like the predator is gonna chomp Magnus's head right off.
Shadowman #1 http://www.valiantcomics.com/valiant/issue.asp?cn=543
Out of the shadows to stop evil....
Harbinger 0 http://www.valiantcomics.com/valiant/issue.asp?cn=1217
you think to yourself "who is the guy in the background?" I always think it is Harada pulling the strings.
Eternal Warrior #35 http://www.valiantcomics.com/valiant/issue.asp?cn=183
Its just his arm!
Solar #3 http://www.valiantcomics.com/valiant/issue.asp?cn=616
Look out! hes behind you....

Without a doubt:
Solar #1: The power around him is solar gel. SOLAR FREAKING GEL. It's so gelly that I can almost reach out and touch it. And if I touch it I can perchance become a god? It's mind blowing
(pbbt, why are you people looking at me like you never thought of that before. Hypocrits.)
Magnus #0: Standing over a pile of dead robots. Come on, you know some sh%^ went down for that pile to accumulate there!
Magnus #2: As Greg posted, "Stop running and pushing...
There's enough death here for everyone."
Honor roll:
Unity #0 and 1: it’s an action sequence of all the Valiant players. Nuff said.
Rai #1: So Simplistic yet so eye appealing. Like Solar #7, you want to frame it.

Best Covers
No one thought Bloodshot #1 or Turok #1 ?!?
When Bloodshot #1 came out, no other company had tried a cover like that before. This was one of many things that put Valiant ahead of the other companies. I was just could not believe how awesome those covers were when they came out.

Re: Best Covers
I wanted to say bloodshot 1...I love it, but then I thought that this was more of regular cover kinda thread since we had the gimmick cover thread a while back...Hell I even typed it out and everything but went back and changed it since I did not think that it was the right place for it...but yeah I like that cover also....Snakemann wrote:No one thought Bloodshot #1 or Turok #1 ?!?

i'll go for some "outside the box" answers
hard corps 4...the james bond underwater adventure one has always been a favorite!
x-o 16 he's coming out of the ocean dripping wet-just thought it was cool
archer and armstrong 3...all that action and archer is just putting his thoughts down on paper-explains their relationship very well-a lot of depth on a cover like that!
