Dysart would LOVE to write a Harbinger Novel
In the latest OTV episode, Josh talks about his run on Harbinger and how much time and thought he puts into each of the characters, and how unfortunately much of it ends up on the cutting room floor because of the limitations of the comic medium. I thought of how cool it would be to read a Harbinger novel by the man himself where many of those limitations wouldn't be there. Through the magic of Social Media, I mentioned how cool a novel would be, and he said he would LOVE to write a Harbinger novel - and to ask Valiant that you want it.
I think most of us love Josh's work - and would love to read a novel based on these characters written by him.

And it would be great if it fit in the overall cannon/universe of VEI. That would be great.

Dysart could write about a rock and I would buy it. It doesn't do anything. It just sits there.

This +1000
The best part is I have tried to get my wife interested in comics several times. She has read a few things she liked, Clone, Thief of Thieves and Harbinger, but she has never gotten past the first 2 or 3 issues because she just doesn't like the medium. She devours novels and prefers that kind of storytelling. If Josh writes a Harbinger novel?!?!?!?!?? That would be perfect for her! This must be done.

A tire with telepathy would be better, it would know what everyone was thinking but could do SFA about it.lorddunlow wrote:Well, there was a movie about a tire with telekinesis, so there is that.FormerReader wrote:Dysart could write about a rock and I would buy it. I'm not typically into novel adaptations of comics but Dysart writing one would be different. His characters have the feel of characters in novels.

Dysart would LOVE to write a Harbinger Novel
Anything Josh writes I would read. A novel by him could go on my book shelf next to my favorite books. That would be something to share with friends who like books and comics. I am so game for that!
Comics are the wave of the future. It forces people to read and imagine something more then their world they know. If everyone looked pass their reality, less violence would be an issue. Comics instead of war!

Re: Dysart would LOVE to write a Harbinger Novel
Yeah, I'd definitely be up for a Harbinger novel by Dysart. Whether it's an original story set between arcs or a sort of adaptation and expansion of the Harbinger comic itself, which allows him to incorporate all that stuff that ends up "on the cutting room floor". Both would likely offer more chance to flesh out the characters (though they were very well fleshed out already in the comics, but the novel medium could take that further, as well as examine other characters, like some of the Eggbreakers, that appear in the comics but don't have much panel time or dialogue or the chance to have their backgrounds/thought processes explored, etc).
Yeah, I'd be all for it.
Also, I wouldn't mind if they went exclusively E-book with it to save on production/printing costs while they test the waters to see how it sells. I'd certainly prefer an actual novel so it can join all my Valiant TPBs on my shelf, but I won't be picky.
