Just read Unity...

Post by prismra »

...and it ruled! I really enjoyed the story as it kinda continued the storyline of the early Solars which I loved so much. But that issue where she has the creepy baby was insane! I laughed when I saw the cover and after reading the story, I wasn't really laughing anymore...Anyway, yeah, Unity is the shizzle. I just can't keep thinking how cool Valiant would have been if they didn't get rid of Shooter. He WAS valiant in my opionion.

I can't thank Greg and the 'community' enough for getting me into Valiant. The books simply kick *SQUEE*.

My collection is slowly approaching awesomeness. I have 2 longboxes almost full of Valiants and a stack of common duplicates about a foot high.. (damn you eBay lots!)

It's an addiction I tell you; and if it weren't for the 'Valiant Checklist' I don't think I would be in this current predicament. It's more expensive than drugs.. LOL

Okay, I'm done...

I think Unity is one of the best stories in comic history! It was well written, action packed and fun to read. I rank it up there with the Dark Phoenix Saga, The Secret Wars and Batman's Long Holloween!

i haven't bought a comic book in probably 10 years but i was in my garage a few weeks ago and stumbled across my old collection. i had forgotten how many old Valiant comics i had.

i don't have all the Unity chapters, i have 10 of the 18, and i've read them over three times in the last week. the story was awesome and it made me nostalgic for the characters like Rai, Sting, and XO.

i also agree with the Batman: Long Halloween being one of the best comic stories. i read the trade paperback of that and was enthralled by the story. a very classic case of whodunit?.

I just reread the unity series a few days ago. It is amazing how much you forget. It was AWESOME!!!

I am trying to get my wife to read everything up till the end of unity. So far she has read the 1st 8 issues of magnus and the 1st 4 of Solar. She likes solar much more than Magnus. I cant wait till she reads unity as unity 0 was my first valiant comic. It was FREE!! I was hooked until the end of vh1.

That's funny. I've been putting my girlfriend to work bagging and boarding the loose lots I've won off of eBay. She's been looking at them and saying things like: 'Hmmm this one is cool.' I can tell she's kinda interested but she is resisting the urge to become a comic-geek like me..hehe.

My other favorite comic has to be The Maxx. That was the best. Try to make a complete set of that one, it's a *SQUEE*. It took me like 6 months! I also have almost all the collectables and stuff.

Anyway, Valiant rules and "Nothin beats a bud..."

Yeah, I have been telling her that "we" only need a few more to have a complete reading set, but she doesnt buy the we part. Hopefully she will at least finish up to the end of unity. If i can just get her to do that I think she would maybe be a little more understanding.
She was a little angry this past week. I didnt have harbinger 0 pink so I bid on three and just assumed I would get out bid like always, but I won them all at roughly $30 a piece including shipping. I think I might try a trade here on the boards for the rest of the issues I need. I am not really going for a complete set. I dont really care about all the variants unless I can get a good deal, but have always wanted the pink issue. Now I have 3
