So if Torque REALLY is dead

Do we want to see someone new join the group at some point?

Who would you want it to be?

Maybe a GEN Zero or Psiot kid that didn't get captured (Hive?, Animalia/Monica Jim?)??

.. or a completely new character?

I'd love to see a re-imagined Ax enter the picture at some point. One of my favorite characters from VH1 - he'd be with the group a short time before going all evil-like.

In a few months there is an issue dedicated to Animalia, so I think she is a good bet. Her animal constructs are a similar power set to Torque's and she would add even more diversity to the cast. That would also leave Pete as the only male on the group, though, so someone like Isaiah/Little Castle would make sense as well.

I'd really like to see hive explored more, but I think he would make a great villain. Traveller is another possibility as well. Eventually I'd like to see the two of them rejoin Cronus and Telic as Gen Zero, though.

Hive is interesting ... I could definitely see the monsters that he has consumed eventually consuming him and becoming a villain. But then again he also absorbed the little girl .. maybe she will help him from going Dark side.

Animalia is probably the best suited, that said, aren't there other kids on the run? Not all went with Cronus or Bloodshot following the escape from PRD. Perhaps one (or more) of those will end up joining the Renegades.

Also, I'm wondering when we'll see more of Blaster - I liked his confrontation with Bloodshot at PRS prior to HW...

Isn't Animalia rather young? That might limit the types of stories we'd see in Harbinger. *If* Torque is dead (and I don't think he is) and there is a replacement for him, I imagine it will be someone of a similar age/maturity as the rest of the team.

Dysart told us that they folded Ax's powers into Livewire, so I don't expect to see him any time soon.

This is a pretty interesting topic. I doubt we are all going to predict what happens next. Valiant, and Dysart in particular have been great about not spoiling major plot points, Harby #15 as an example.

If they do, I don't see the age thing making a difference. These are all broken kids. Yes, they're still kids. Late teens. Haven't you ever seen older kids corrupt younger ones? I'm sure they would accept a younger member, and maybe try to have the best intentions to protect them, but ultimately, wind up showing this younger person more about the world than they should ever know at such a young age. And I can see that being an excellently fleshed out plot point by Dysart.
Anyway, I'm cool with it being Animalia, or any one else. But maybe no one else? Hmmm....?

I'm still hoping a replacement isn't needed, but we'll see. I'm not sure what to think of Animalia yet or if I would want her as a replacement or not if one is needed. Dysart didn't call to consult with me this time, so I'm uncertain as to what will be happening.

Why would a projected realistic lion be more acceptable than a projected Disney looking lion?

Especially when it's like a 10 year old girl

I think it's a cool, fun idea ... And I like that Dysart took a chance in creating the character

I actually don't want him to be dead. He was such an awesome character. But I am convinced that this was the plan from day 1.
