Bloodshot gets a new creative team, a #0 issue and then a new title of "Bloodshot and HARD Corps" with Christos Gage writing!

Eternal Warrior by Greg Pak and Trevor Hairsine! :high-five:

Also, expect a Ninjak ongoing eventually, but not yet. And VALIANT...energy drinks?!? :hm:

Why does Bloodshot have to be part of H.A.R.D.Corps? :!:

If he wants to hunt Harbingers, let him do it on his own.

Christos Gage? Ooohhh...Duane is a better writer. Oh well, let's see who would do the art.

Eternal Warrior by Greg Pak and Trevor Hairsine? I am definitely in. :)

And the spark in the middle of the Unity logo is the indicator of the X-O connection. Right?

I think it looks more like the Boon.

Cary has been emphasizing that X-O flash in the current arc.

Christos Gage wrote pretty much the best GI Joe story ever written, so I'm sold.

As good as G.I. Joe 1-50 are, I would put G.I. Joe: Cobra above it.

Edit: And I put Larry Hama's G.I. Joe rather high.

Ok, I will take your word for it. ;) Larry Hama has been writing Joes since forever. Last GI Joe story I read was the one by Mark Powers.

If you are a Joe fan, you owe it to yourself to get the first Cobra mini-series.

It is gnarly.

It will also make Chuckles your favorite Joe.

I loved Gage's Avengers: The Initiative and heard only good thngs about Avengers Academy. He has a great grasp of continuity and a knack for using lesser known characters and creating new ones. I think he'll be great.

And I can't gush enough over the Pak/Hairsine pairing.

I was still expecting one more new title announcement, though...Or does "Unity" or the Bloodshot change count as the 3rd announcement?

Wait..so Bloodshot won't be Bloodshot anymore? And what's going to happen to Duane? :(

On the other hand, Pak is one of my favorite writers in the industry (IHerc = :cloud9: ), and since he and FVL work together so well it's a good thing to see that there will probably be big ties between A&A and EW

DS is leaving the book (kinda saw that coming with all the projects he has currently and announced as upcoming) after the HW arc or the next (it wasnt clear).

BS will then get a #0 issue and be renamed Bloodshot & HARD Corpse (or something like that) he following month, but keep the same numbering.

Well, they worked together a lot in VH1, and there are some common threads between the concepts, but I think it speaks more to the fact that BS is the lowest selling book and needs a boost. Perhaps after Haringer Wars, Bloodshot starts working for the US gov in order to contain the Harbinger issue in a more appropriate way (to him)?

Or he might join them to keep them in check a bit since it seems from what I read in some interviews that the new HARD corps is rather brutal, that or it might be tied with something Bloodshot discovers about his past, plus IIRC Dinesh said in an interview to newsarama that the VEI corps will be similar at the beginning but might end up very different so wait and see.As for the change I trust valiant and Gage is a good writer. Also Eternal warrior by Pak isa very good news seeing how him and Van Lente work well together.

I'm cautiously optimistic, but I'm very sad about the changes to Bloodshot. I really liked Duane Swierczynski's writing, and Bloodshot is my #2 book. Hopefully it will continue to be awesome. Strange that they are collapsing two IPs into one book, though. Super excited about everything else.

I'm not a G I Joe fan. But I got the first issue of this series free on Comixology. Loved it and quickly bought the other issues. Really good stuff. In fact with the free issue the entire four part mini series on Comixology is only $3.00. Well worth it.

Bloodshot is the one Valiant series I'm surprised I like so much. Was never a fan back in the day of the original Bloodshot. But I've enjoyed this book.

With the new creative team and direction it will give me a decision point. With Valiant announcing serveral new series in the near future I'm not sure how long I can continue to buy every series. But hopefully Bloodshot continues to be good. Just means more trips to the blood donor clinic to afford more Valiant books. :?

1. It is an X-O connection, Unity comes straight out of an X-O storyline

2. I can't believe nobody has mentioned yet (Or at least I have not seen it) Bloodshot & The HARD Corps is a take on Rai & the Future Force, which may be a hint on the whole Bloodshot/Rai connection, HARD Corps keeping "blood of heroes" in the future to create a Rai.

As much as I like Bloodshot in a solo series, I can see the logic in pairing him with H.A.R.D Corps, storywise. Both are creations of PRS, and depending on the outcome of Harbinger Wars, might realize their common bond and a common mission. :?
