What's going on with the Harbinger 7 flamingo cover?

So title says it all.

One if my LCS's did not get any of these covers.

The other LCS got only one and gave it to me.

DCBSERVICE did not fill my order yet.

This cover is selling for 10 to 15 dollars on eBay.

Anybody have background on what is going on with this book?

i was wondering the same thing. i thought it was going to be a pullbox. main store didnt get one.
found 1 in a stack of 40 reg covers. had some "wave" to it, no creases so i figured people skipped it and got one of the other covers. nother a heavy book cant fix
checked another big store in the area and they didn't get one either.

I wondered this myself. I thought it was supposed to be a pullbox since it wasn't listed as a 1:20 or 1:50. Was surprised when I didn't have one in my pullbox last week. Looks like it's listed the same as the others that were pullbox variants. Just the artist name. Like the Faith face cover of Harby #4.

Maybe they just didn't ship, but that don't sense because some places have them

My comic shop ordered me one. I almost passed it up glad I didnt.
My lcbs said its an incentive. He explained it to me like if you order the same or more compounding issues as you did the month before. You get it. I may be wrong I may not have all the information. But from what was said to me

If that is the case i wish we would have known about earlier. This is line with what i am seeing

The one LCS that had a copy has increased their ordering on Harbinger due to the VALIANT free-view we have been doing.

The other LCS has decreased their ordering by about 10% (my math from counting new release books) and did not have any.

I noticed this last Friday when Midtown sold out of this cover. I know Midtown orders a ton of Valiant books but they didn't have it meant something was off.

Its like we are back to the X-O #6 Zircher episode, but the Flamingo cover is supposed to be a variant (non limited) cover.

I don't want to spread any rumors, but I am guessing that this was distributed as a 1:25 or 1:50 incentive.

DCBS also has not filled my order yet. I did not see any at the LCS - I did not go on Wed, checked on Fri and saw just the regular cover.

It would be nice if we could get official confirmation from VEI if this is supposed to be a pullbox or some more rare variant. I wonder now about next months cover with Torque on the front. Is it going to be the same as this Flamingo variant was?

I'm also thinking that this can be similar to the Archer & Armstrong #4 Doe cover. While its a 1:1 or 50/50 cover, they are quite hard to find.

You had trouble finding the A&A Doe cover? We got a lot of them here

I have a copy of the A&A Doe cover, but it wasn't as available from my LCS like a 1:1 / 50:50 cover.

As for the Harbinger #7 Flamingo. I have to wait until my next visit to my LCS on the 26th to see if I have a copy. I'm not seeing many on eBay.

For some reason..... I'm wondering why don't LCS's order more pullbox/variants like the Blackout and Character Design cover.

I think its a good business strategy because you are getting a more limited print book for the same price as the regular cover since Diamond lets you order these 1:1 covers freely...

Has anyone noticed that the regular covers are usually left on the shelves. If I was responsible on making the orders.. it makes sense to do 50:50 or do a few more pullbox/variant than regular covers.

This is one in a few reasons to create variants. Most if not all of us will purchase atleast 1 copy per cover. .

So both variants for #8 are retailers (Evans and Lemire)? I just wish this wasn't such a guessing game on these things. Paging Uncle Greg: where's your source on identifying variant distribution?

I just hope the Lemire cover is screwed up and is printed and distributed widely. This is all getting a bit laughable.

My LCS had 1 copy of the Flamingo cover which I passed on and about 3 copies of the regular cover on the racks. No idea how many copies they order month to month. I had the regular cover in my pull file.

But they would let me have one of each as per usual ~ as they under ordered.
So I chose what I thought was the cooler cover.
