Major DC character comes out of the closet?

Well, obviously it's not Superman since he has already been "reintroduced." So what major character hasn't been "reintroduced" as part of the The New 52 yet?Could Superman be gay?
Honchos at Superman's comic book home, DC Comics, said this weekend that one of their most identifiable (but as of yet unnamed) straight characters will soon be coming out of the closet, according to a report.
At the Kapow Comic Convention held last weekend in London, DC co-publisher Dan DiDio said the publisher would be reintroducing a previously existing character who would now be “one of our most prominent gay characters," the website BleedingCool.com reports.
Didio said DC's position had shifted on the subject since he said in an interview last year that any homosexual characters would be new introductions, and that none of their existing characters' sexual orientations would shift.
DC vice president Bob Wayne likened DC's change in tune to President Obama's shift on gay marriage, explaining that DC's policy “has evolved,” the report says.

I would agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

Who knows? Man, if making a character's sexual pref is all you got to sell comics, it might be time to figure out a more entertaining story-line. Then again, if it turns out to be a good story and not another gimmick to boost sales for a month or two I'll buy it regardless of who's putting what where in their down-time.

Hasn't it already been said that Wonder Woman was going to be gay?

He and Mera seem pretty dedicated to one another in the Aquaman title for that to be the case.OmenSpirits.com wrote:Aquaman.

Re: Major DC character comes out of the closet?
I could see it being Jimmy Olsen. That would be "safe" enough because it's a supporting character, not a lead hero or villain. And he's young enough and prominent enough to be declared a "role model" while not really being any different than before. But it's "risky" enough to draw attention and drive up sales (for a month or two, then everybody will go back to not caring).
I would agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

DC lost me with the re-launch. Many of you are older and remember "older" characters like Barry Allen and probably appreciate him being back. Bringing back characters like him and convoluting DC history just has me reading back issues prior to the whole new mess.
Finally, I thought the introduction of Batwoman took care of catering to the gay demographic.
