The Spideraliens were in almost every early Valiant comic. I wonder if the Vine will be equally involved.

My guess is The Vine is going to be pretty involved. I also suspect that VEI is shying away from Spider Aliens because of the connection to Solar, which may tell us they are shying away from Phil Seleski, since Spider Aliens only existed because of Phil's fear of arachnids. I do love the design on The Vine, and yes, the SA's were very hairy.

I like the updated version better. I think it adds a modern element that will bring in more new readers than the original enemy would have.

I will not be surprised if new Valiant is better than classic Valiant in nearly every way, except nostalgia.

If I had to guess, I would say there is a good chance that a lot of the characters/concepts could be done better today then they were in the 90's. One thing VEI has to its advantage is that, unlike Acclaim, they are not changing things just for changes sake.

I always liked the origial Spider aliens. But I never liked real spiders. Just look at the cover of Solar #16. It's one of my favorites! They may have looked goofy but they could be very dangerous.

That makes me wonder, did we ever learn what the Spider Aliens called themselves? It seems like that name was given to them by X-O and Solar.

I'm wondering why the armors are name "Manowar" and "Wolf" class. Did they have many men and wolves on the spider alien homeworld?
