I'm looking for 9.4 or so if possible...Thanks, though. ;)

Can anyone do the lot for like around $90?

I have extras available of all of these but Deathmates Red & Black. The ones I have are all NM or better. They total $149 according to Greg's Price Guide. I'll sell them shipped Insured Priority for $125.

If you don't want this offer, Dan, the offer stands for the first other person to contact me. So let me know. I seriously doubt that anyone who has most of these would sell them for $90. And if you buy them from several persons, you'll pay alot more in shipping.---Steve

Well, I hate to disagree with Vault-Keeper, since he's trying to sell, but I personally would recommend that you don't go over 10-15 bucks for a gold. This is coming from someone like you, who still needs 5-6 of them and who needed more than 10 a month ago. I've been able to win them on ebay for 10 dollars, some for up to 15. When I get outbid beyond that, which is actually rare, I just let them go, because more come along later. Granted, the Shadowman and Bloodshot seem to be more in demand or at least harder to get for some reason, but I'm willing to wait until the price is right. If you want something more rare, like a Unity 0 red or a Chaos Effect Alpha Red, obviously the price is higher, but there were 5,000 of each of the golds printed, and they come onto ebay frequently with starting bids at 9.99 or so.

Back in 1993, when Valiant was all the rage, I paid 70 bucks for an Archer and Armstrong 0 gold. I'm never doing that again. I have seen several times where I could pick one up off ebay for 10-15 now. Fortunately, I went to a lot of conventions back in the day, and won a lot of them for free, thank goodness. Yes, I even had a dorky Solar costume on once. ;) But hey, it got me a Hard Corps #1 Gold, and Bob Layton was at the convention so I got it signed. The most fun was challenging Seaborn Adamson, the Valiant archivist who's unfortunately dead, to trivia contests. I actually stumped him once in Atlanta! (He didn't know Flamingo's mother was from Abbeville, Alabama). But I never stumped him again. Still, I won some gold issues doing that, too.

Also, one of the local comic shops in Birmingham gave some away for triva contest winners, which was cool...me and a buddy went down and won them easily.

But anyway, back to current times, I'd encourage you to just be patient and wait...I'm willing to bet you can get any gold issue for 10-15 dollars if you're patient. That's what I'm doing, and I've already gotten five or so that I needed. Also, I've noticed some board members don't mind selling them at around that price, as long as you buy from them in volume.

Duh......do the math, bama.

I'm offering 8 Golds. If you paid $15 each, which seems to be a fair price according to you, that totals $120.

Add in Insured Priority shipping, & it would total a little over the $125 I'm selling them for.

Plus ALL of the issues are NM or better, coming from me, a 100% totally trustworthy source. WHAT more could you ask for?

So thanks, RW-bama, for helping me to establish what a good deal I'm offering! :)---Steve

Fair enough, Vault-Keeper...sorry about that. I thought he was only asking for six of them (which would have been 60 to 90 bucks)...I counted pretty quickly, I see he wanted more than that--I didn't notice he was asking for several of the Deathmates.

You're right, you're not offering a bad price for eight of them. Plus the fact he'd save on shipping, so you're right, you're offering a good deal. I stand corrected.

And I was just making a general point...not meaning to target you really. Again, sorry about that. :) I'm just quick to comment on this issue because I'm trying to complete my collection, too. And I got shilled on ebay last month, so I don't like to see anyone pay more than they should for anything.

How do you know you got shilled? On what?

Hey, prismra! I talked about it about a month ago, in the middle of this thread:

http://www.valiantfans.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3245

Once I found out what shilling was, I researched the item's bid history and the history of the seller, and found that the guy had set up a shill account that had "won" the item just a couple of weeks before, and then he left positive feedback on that shill account and offered the exact same issues again. And the same shill account bid against me and I paid forty bucks more than I intended to, because I wanted the xo issues so badly. (If you want to see how to investigate that, just check the bid histories of the two item numbers I provide in the other thread). The irony is if I had waited two weeks, I could have gotten those same xo issues I needed for much cheaper. Indeed, because of another auction that had a bunch of nice stuff that I won, I'm going to end up with an extra set of those xo's! Ironic...

But don't worry...that dude isn't on ebay anymore. I raised a stink on here and complained to ebay. However, he is selling on yahoo now under the same ID he used on ebay, so watch out for him. His name is ace_traffic. He does ship them nicely, though, and he does have cool stuff, so if he has something you want, just wait until the last five minutes or less and bid, so he can't shill you. :)

Sorry to disappoint you, knight. 8-) And there you were, all at the edge of your seat. ;)

Yeah, I don't care for *SQUEE*' contests, I just like to have fun and throw in my .02. If anyone disagrees, that's okay...I'm well-informed as a Valiant collector, but not as expert as many on the board.

I'd actually LOVE to fight/argue/bicker with someone on here, but only if I knew them well and it was all in fun. :thumb:

I think people take these message board things WAY to seriously. The problem is that we are writing here and not speaking so it is almost impossible to dicern intent without seeing facial expressions and vocal inflection. So people get all butt-hurt over little arguments without even knowing if the other person is actually trying to be a jerk. I know the way I write sometime can be taken as rude or playful depending on how you percieve it.

Bottom line, don't take these message boards too seriously. :P

Now, when I get on Counterstike and some little 12 year old puke from S. Dakota starts cussing at me a berating me for not being an expert the first time I play a game online, then I'll get *SQUEE*! :!:

Teenagers online are the worst. And the little *SQUEE* are so damn good at some of those games, too.

A throat punch sounds about right to me. :thumb:

I'll have to agree with the teenager thing, just look over your kids shoulder sometime when they are in an MSN or Yahoo chatroom and see the way some of them talk to each other.
