Thanks for the link, Knightt. I have been going through my trading cards and found some Marvel X-Men and Masterpieces (1st series) as well. The problem with re-discovering these cards is that the urge to complete each set with all the inserts is greater the urge to sell them to clear some space. :!:

Well they sure do take up some space, that's for sure.

Good news is that many of the older cards are pretty inexpensive to pick up these days. Only problem is finding them.

I have extras of the VEII thank you cards...all but #16.

LMK if interested.
Thanks!

I have a few of these in my collection but I am not very sure about the history of these cards. Can you shed some light on that ? Given out at a Con or something like that ? Something like this is one of the reasons I continued to like Valiant after Jim was ousted.

Yep. They did "Thank You" promo cards for the VEI, VEII, and Deathmate sets.
Mostly distributed at cons. The VEII cards were also randomly inserted in copies of Triton #5 magazine. Completing a set can be quite a challenge!

There were cards in that Mag? That's the one with Shadowman on the cover right?

I didn't know about the card. Wonder if mine has one.

Those 'Thank you'/ 'comic con' cards are very very hard to find. Every now and then single ones will come up from the "'94 'Thank You' cards (36 cards)" set on ebay. but i've never seen any from the other couple sets. I got my set from another board member a few years ago.
That's an admirable and ambitious want list Iggy. best of luck. :thumb:
