If they end up printing more of these, will they be second prints, or will they say first prints?

Thats a real small print run. I would have thought at least double that.

Isn't that amount even lower than the "Predator vs Magnus" trade from years ago?

*gonna check out on my amazon cart for a copy of that one.

I noticed alot of the Dark Horse trades get higher in price more so than the single comics do....Re: Thing from Another World, Star Wars: Redemption, James Bond: Serpent's Tooth....

:hm:

If DH was an indy publisher, those numbers would be fantastic. But, considering that they are the #3 or 4 size publisher, not so great. :?

I know! They should make a movie first, and then the comics will start selling more and become successful! :hm: :P

Yeah, for a DH book in the first month of release, that's really, really not good. Nowadays, tpb sales can make a book even though singles are selling crappy (see Scalped)..... Not with numbers like that though. I know some people think they are just on hiatus, but if those numbers don't make Mike Richardson hit the abort button on this line, then he is even dumber than he sounded in that cbr or newsarama interview.

Little Lulu vol 25 from DH outsold it in Nov 2010 (just one that I stumbled upon).

They showed the One Piece anime on adult swim on the Cartoon Network years ago. It had something to do with a pirate kid that could stretch his arms out long.

Again, very shocked by the Mighty Samson print run number. People are obviiously not buying the Might Samson book.

I wonder if that's because the other books have foloowings from the Valiant days, but Samson doesn't.

Doctor Solar 1 22,630
Doctor Solar 2 13,715
Doctor Solar 3 10,115
Doctor Solar 4 8,677
Doctor Solar 5 7,778
Doctor Solar 6 - 7,016
Doctor Solar Trade- 1,031
Occultist 1 5,399
Magnus 1 17,729
Magnus 2 11,168
Magnus 3 8,890
Magnus 4 7,795
Mighty Samson 1 7,814
Mighty Samson 2 4,914
Mighty Samson 3 4,359
Turok 1 12,607
Turok 2 8,015

What is sad about looking at these numbers is that there are 22k+ copies of Solar #1 that sold. That's alot of people that wanted to try and like this. They really botched this with the crappy art in Solar and then the delays.

I think the delays had a lot to do with it, and that first story arc on "Solar" maybe wasn't the "blow-your-doors-off" type of storyline that you want to launch an entire line with.

I think if they'd launched with Turok 1 and come out on time, these numbers would look a lot different.

Doctor Solar #1 art was unquestionably the biggest nail in the Gold Key coffin. Look at the numbers between issue 1 and 2. The first issue of a new line needs to be a home run, not a strike out. I can't for the life of me understand what they were thinking. Add to that lateness and the uninspired art and it's recipe for disaster. I agree Turok was the best of the bunch.
