Shooter At Dark Horse:

Okay, the press release that Shooter's taking over at Dark Horse as head writer on their Gold Key characters came August 5th. Shooter said they reached an agreement the week of the San Diego Con. In any event it's been at least four weeks since Shooter knew about what he'll be doing at Dark Horse. I think he could have three or four comics already scripted.
Here's an interesting quote from the press release: "further characters and new comic writers to be announced shortly." Maybe we'll get some more news pretty soon.

Well, it took around 12 weeks from DC announcing Kevin VanHook's Red Tornado mini to the first issue hitting the stands. Given that Shooter said they had basically all the details to work out yet, I think 4 weeks might be more than a tad bit optimistic.

To script a comic and get it drawn and inked, may take time.

Add to it, printing schedule (did i spell it right), and the marketing side.
MAYBE it will take time.

You never know, maybe they are waiting for an anniversary, special date, or a time when their is a lull in comics coming out.

Surely if I was big like DH in the business I would be talking to marvel and dc about their upcomming events as to maximise my output.

I'm guessing they're going to come out on February 8th, 2010. I can feel it.
If I'm right I think I should be elevated to some sort of chieftain here.

I think a good guesstimate.

I expect that Jim Shooter and Mike Richardson have seen the increasing trend for lateness and so I would not be surprised to see a few isuses produced in lead time to 'get ahead'.

Plus, the first stories will be in DHP - will that be less than 22 pages per story per month? If so more lead time is gained there since DHP will be the launch pad.

I haven’t seen anything in Diamond’s Previews book yet and usually solicitations are made three months ahead of time. So at best, if we see an ad in September’s book we’re still talking the end of ’09 or a little later.

So the real question is in what part of ’10 should we expect to see something—early, middle or late. I’m still thinking that we’ll have at least DHP early in the year (hoping that the chieftain is correct)

We're not too far off from the two month anniversary of the Dark Horse press release announcing Shooter coming. Ten more day until it's been two months.
