Does anyone collect AC Comics ?
I have a glorious 2 short box collection with titles such as Femforce, She-Cat, The Blue Bulleteer, Nightveil and others.
Really a lot of campy stories with chicks with big boobs and great bods but the stories are pretty darn fun and to top it off, many of the characters are from the WWII Era... this is just a very FUN universe to collect. This should not even count as the company is still going and produces books about every 2 months.
Just wondering.

I have always loved the look of AC comics ever since the early 80's when i saw the Charton hereos just before DC produced them.
I never really picke dthem up for myself until the last few years, but you dont see many to be fair.
Im still laughing about Femforce being prodcued to this day with a cover price of $6.95 inan almost ashcan size.
Im going to add them to my list of weird indy publishers that arent DU's , bu are worthy of trying to complete.
I might even have a few in your pile dude.

I have my run of 1-107 and numerous one-shots, mini-series.Draco wrote:I have always loved the look of AC comics ever since the early 80's when i saw the Charton hereos just before DC produced them.

Which ashcan sized books are you talking about ? 99% of my issues are comic book sized with a mix of them being color then black/white/ then color. Insane but still you are right a very weird indy publisher but (now don't take me for a perv) they sure are appealing in a 'campy' kind of way. I don't think I have read an issue 100% through yet and I pickeed up over 100 issues very cheaply and then followed through with a same number of issues or about that on the second order, so I 'might' have put $300 into the set but I feel it is well worth it.
I do have ONE 'mini-book' with Catman and Kitty and I would really like more of them but have not been able to find them. They are as short as an ashcan but as wide as a comic.
I gotta be honest, the blatant boobage, cleavage and @zz shots get to the point where you don't notice them any more (much

Now to go after the 108 to at least 148, I THINK that it may have an issue or two after that, we are talking April 2009. The company just revamped their website again and with stories, layouts and inks by Bill Black, pencils by Mark Heike and an abundance of other artistic talents, these books are on my to read list but I made sure it was 'ok' with my wife first. hahaha My first wife would catch a glance at the books I was reading in the 90s and get all insecure, think I was a perv and what not... so, I cleared it through my 'new and improved wife' at which she opened up her blouse and said 'baby, those gals don't have any more than I do... read away.'
Well, lets just say, I put the books down and did some redeckorating in the bedroom for about an hour. hehehe
First time comics ever worked IN my favor. hehehe
No, there is not really a super interest in them, but if you ever decide to sell them... LMK. I hoard the first 10 issues. They are so 40s campish, it is kind of refreshing. No major violence, the jargon is very campy and the stories are just fun superhero stories.... and yeah, shapely women.Brother J wrote:I've got a run of Femforce #1-10 or so that I bought cheaply off eBay a couple years back. Back then, I thought they might be a shrewd investment since the title has lasted so long, but there doesn't seem to be much interest in them.
You should check out their website sometime... they take their books serious but keepin' it real.

They are very camp and are all old characters that they managed to grab hold of that weren tbeing used elsewhere as far as i know.Knightt wrote:No, there is not really a super interest in them, but if you ever decide to sell them... The issues i have that are almost aschan size are after the ones you have so they must have changed the format recently.
Im keeping an eye out for more, but like is said they dont have them in the cheap boxes much.
I grabbed some multiples of # 1 & 6 and thats it so far.
These are really part of teh badgirl mid 90's madness, but are so not OTT at all.
They are quite simple in their approach and i dont mind them at all.
For all the T&A crap out there, these are tame to say the least.
They might look pervy, but they are harmless fun and probably aimed more at the 50+ nostalgia peeps.

Re: Does anyone collect AC Comics ?
bumping up an old thread. Was just in a local shop and happened to see the latest issue of Femforce on the rack. I was surprised to see it there, and was even more surprised when I saw the cover price. $9.95?? For a comic book?? Sure, it was VERY thick, but it was strange seeing such a high price on a book that wasn't a graphic novel.

They do some great Golden Age reprints and have a couple of series' devoted to them. They're expensive, though and the mail order places don;t give much of a discount, usually just 10%. Well worth it to read stuff that is utterly impossible to find.

Re: Does anyone collect AC Comics ?
I still collect Femforce as they are released and 9.95 (plus discount through DCBS) is expensive but the last I heard the print run was about 2500 per issue (could be less now as the 2500 was when they were 7.95) so as the cost risse as the number printed decreases.Brother J wrote:bumping up an old thread. But it is a fun title to read, I just need to finish my run (about 30 issues to go!!)
Welcome to the Jungle!!

Re: Does anyone collect AC Comics ?
I picked up (and still have) some of their earliest titles -- Americomics, Armageddon Factor -- before the over-emphasis on boobage. I enjoyed those early books but I don't think the company would still be around without the good/bad girls.

Re: Does anyone collect AC Comics ?
I'd say almost any Femforce book beyond #100 has a tiny print run and will rarely show up in cheap bins. Especially, as mentioned above, since their cover price is nearly $10 these days. I don't collect the book, but I'm glad to hear it's still alive and kicking. I think it's neat to see indy books with such high issue numbers.
Re: Does anyone collect AC Comics ?
I am quite pleased with the Femforce 1-100 (101-135 with holes I yet to fill, HEY HEY no bad jokes lol) that I picked up from you, what 2-3 years ago now ? With all the extras, mini series, one-shots, this is a great little universe to collect. Not that I wave them around when my wife is nearby (although she can give ANY one of the gals in Femforce a run for their money/boobage). The higher individual price per issue later on in the higher number books have kept me away from collection beyond the really nice deal I got from you. I think that as a girlie book, the story and art hold up very well over the course of the universe (although I cannot speak for latter issues). The quality and love by the fans for these books keeps it going strong and with the recent Femforce trading card set, it gives it even more 'exposure'.Doorman wrote:I'd say almost any Femforce book beyond #100 has a tiny print run and will rarely show up in cheap bins. Re: Does anyone collect AC Comics ?
I have picked up the one issue from AC that has The Question,Captain Atom and Nightshade. Plus that one other issue that has Blue Beetle. I have been slowing collecting all the issues of Good Girl art quarterly and the Jungle Girls series. GGAQ is great cause you get one new story starring some of the Femforce ladies, then lots of reprints of old good girl art comics. And each issue has a theme.

Re: Does anyone collect AC Comics ?
yeah Knightt - you picked that deal up quite a while ago. that was a sweet score! As you mentioned, the AC Universe does indeed have plenty of one-shots and mini-series that tie in.
