It could be, though here's a quote from the Dark Horse press release.
"with further characters and new comic writers to be announced shortly."
If they're already ready to announce new writers shortly it sounds like they're going to get rolling with more than one title rather quickly.

In a way it makes more sense to release them weekly, so that most months have four books in the universe right from the off. Or at least two titles in month one, the other two in month two, with each slotting into a differnt publication week. 3-4 months to build momentum is slow, especially with the benefits or order adjustments that have come in for retailser which someone was posting about recently.

Delay means delay for publication in other formats, and since DH have spoken of their pride at being able to deliver in so many formats I'd be surprised if they didn't try to hit the ground running.

That's a good point, but why announce new writers and characters if they're not going to put much stuff out at least fairly quickly?

1 a month and adding 1 each month is very quickly it will give time for buzz and help everyone get used to a new story
month 1 solar
month 2 solar and mags
month 3 solar mags and turok
and so on thats still a very fast release schedule and better to go a little slow and get new readers then scare them to fast from sticker stock

Since they already have a well established line of books, I don't think they'll be in a big hurry to put all of the GK stuff out at once. I would guess that they will gauge the sales first and then proceed from there.

Here's a quote from Scoop's Shooter interview:

Scoop:It sounds like a gradual roll-out rather the slamming the audience (and retailers) with a bunch of new comics all at once. Is that the plan?
Jim Shooter: Again it hasn’t been discussed much—remember, this project came into existence only ten days ago, as of this writing. However, I think a gradual rollout is probably a good idea.

The new Dark Horse series that I'm most looking forward to is the new Groo series due out in October.

For the GK stuff, I'm going to have to flip them or check out previews to figure out if I'd enjoy it or not.

From what I understand, it's going to be Dark Horse Presents first [all 4 titles] then a gradual rollout of each title spinning off into their own ongoing series'.

I never thought Dark Horse Presents would be my favorite title, but now it just might be.
