An orginal MITB God Ginrai and MITB Overlord
God Ginrai is the most expensive TF toy I ever bought (and the only one I ever bought off the now defunct yahoo auctions). The toy was $600 plus shipping, handling, and insurance and sending via Western Union (which was because the seller was in the Philippines and was more expensive than shipping, handling and insurance), the final cost was $707 and Overlord was $400. The irony was the day I won the auction Takara (the Japanese company that makes the TFs) annouced they were going to reissue God Ginrai and Hasbro also reissued it in the USA as Powermaster Optimus Prime with Apex Armor for their TRU excuslive Transformers: Commemorative Series I bought them both at late dates.
Transformers: Commemorative Series TRU Exclusive Powermaster Optimus Prime, Galvatron II, and BBTS exclusive Seacons reissue (on top).
The Transformers: Encore Metroplex reissue, Botcon Exclusive Cat Scan (on top), and SDCC Soundwave reissue
Japanese TRU Exclusive Nucleon Quest Super Convoy.
The Transformers: Encore Omega Supreme Reissue.
An original G1 Powermaster Optimus Prime in the box and The Transformers: Encore Sky Lynx reissue.
Canadian G1 Sixshot with English and French text.

Re: What other things do you collect ?
I have a 97% G1 Fortress Maximus that I bought it a LCS back in 1997 for $120! I damn near passed out when I first saw it. I also have a Japanese Brave Maximus repaint from Car Robots (the toyline and anime show was called Robots in Disguise in the USA) I bought back in 2000.superman-prime wrote:very nice

Re: What other things do you collect ?
Let's see:
-Fighting Fantasy Gamebooks (I am the proud owner of about 100 of these, among Portuguese and Brazilian translations, Penguin Editions, Wizard Editions- so, as far as I know, It's the biggest collection in my country ) I also collect Lone Wolf, Way of The Tiger, Fabled Lands and other gamebook series.
-D&D Minis (I have about 200+ right now. Already sold a hundred of these over the years)
-Batman comics, trades, HCs, action figures, miniatures, cartoons, etc, etc. I'm chasing more of the B:TAS merchandise and LEGO stuff these days.
-X-Men comics (current) and early stories, both in HC and TPB.
-Random Action Figures (eg. Lemmy Kilminster, TMNT, Godzilla, etc- whatever I like, basically)
-Warhammer (half-way through my 1.000 pts Wood Elves army. Yeah, I also paint minis)
-EVERYTHING related to Rurouni Kenshin.
-Star Wars stuff that grabs my attention (like my SWEEEET Force Fx Anakin ROTS Lightsaber)
-MTG cards.
That's (most of ) the other stuff I collect besides every single VEI book

Re: What other things do you collect ?
I'm extremely anal about my collecting, so I have to clearly draw lines so I won't buy everything. So, here's what I collect.
G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero
-1982-1990 mint on card figures (82-85 are graded AFA80 or better, 86-90 are not graded but have no dents, tears, lifting, etc.... All very nice cards)
-1982-1987 every loose figure complete and unbroken
-1982-1986 every loose vehicle and play set complete with the boxes (love the box art!)
-The Larry Hamma Joe comic (first 155 at marvel, latest ~30 at IDW)
-The rest of the IDW Joe comics (Cobra is sick!)
You can see most of this here:
http://www.Facebook.com/thegijoemuseum" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Valiant Comics:
-VH1: I completed my set when I was 14 or 15, back in 93-94. I stayed with it until the acclaim reboot.
-VEI: I'm doing my best to collect all covers, so far so good.

Oh, and the sideshow collectibles 1/6 scale Joes. Holy *SQUEE* they are awesome. You have to see em to believe em. Even the pistols break down into four pieces. They are extremely detailed and the head sculpts are on point.

1933 Goudey plus other older cards, unopened baseball card packs, GPK cards. Though I haven't bought any of those in quite some time now...been focusing on Valiant for some years now.

Actually HD-DVD's looked better in the beginning due to better compression format, but then Blu ray jumped on the bandwagon and then they were the same.betterthanezra wrote:Come on Prime there is NO difference between HD DVD & Blu-ray in picture quality they are both 1080P.superman-prime wrote:ya my blu ray plays both but blu looks better

I was a fan of HD-DVD but I'm glad Blu ray won. Blu ray's are far more durable and have been estimated to possibly last as long as 100 years if you take care of them.

I got five 30 gallon totes filled with Transformers toys and some very big boxes with more recent toys and their cards/boxes/packages in them and yes I still play with most of my TF toys.

I'm itching to buy it. Just not sure what to tell the wife once she sees a two foot tall toy delivered to the front door.maraxusofkeld wrote:Is anyone buying the Fortress Maximus reissue?
Fortress Maximus does bring back lots of childhood memories for me. Sometimes I do look back and regret ever selling it, but as of right now, I am pretty satisfied with the mini versions that I have sitting on my desk.

I wouldnt feel too bad, the reissue looks to be top notch and I think it will drive down the price of the original, especially parts for the original as most might be indestinguishable.

After staring at pictures of the encore re-issue, I just couldn't hold back anymore and bit the bullet on Amazon. Also placed an order for the Metroplex Titan Class as well. Now all I need to do is figure out what to say to the wife once the big boxes shows up at the door......maraxusofkeld wrote:Escaflown4 wrote:I'm itching to buy it. Let us know how it looks. I was hesitant as to the quality of it as all the pics are stock photos. I bought a few of the g1 cars when they were in clearance at toys are us and the tracks fist broke on the first transformation.

Re: What other things do you collect ?
Well the Fort Max came and luckily my wife wasn't home when Fedex dropped it off. Unfortunately the packaging was horrible that the front portion of the box got pretty beat up. I ended up having to send it back to Amazon for a refund. As for Metroplex, Amazon has a date of August 1st before it gets shipped. I am hoping the packaging is better this time as I snagged Metroplex for a great price ($115). Amazon has it marked up to $179 now. Since today is my birthday, I'll just use that excuse when it arrives.Carson wrote:Let me know what you come up with! Right now I am still debating whether to order another Fort Max from a different seller on Amazon....

Why not try bigbadtoystore store, not sure of the price difference, but supposedly their stuff comes to the buyer in good shape.

Yeah, I'll go check out their site. It's been so long since I last ordered from them. I think the last thing I bought from their site was Brave Maximus when it first came out, but that was so long ago...maraxusofkeld wrote:Why not try bigbadtoystore store, not sure of the price difference, but supposedly their stuff comes to the buyer in good shape.
