Jim Shooter seminar set for New York Comic-Con

OK guys...

Mr. Shooter will be appearing at the NYCC and hold one of his famous Comics seminar on saturday Feb 7, 2009.

Times are set at 1830-1930. It may be extended by 1/2 an hour. I am still awaiting word from NYCC guys.

Depending on the room I get this year, seating may be limited..

So....whose coming?..

If you can plan another one in 3 years I should be done with law school and able to make it

I plan to teach, write/research and collect a check from a tenured position. It is a dream I have. Academia seems to be where I'm heading.

It seems as if this seminar will be professionally video'd and done as a series of Jim's "How to create Comics"...the dvd's will contain additional material...more on that soon...

It is also possible it will be a ticketed event, and proceeds will go to possibly "Make a Wish"..I believe Jim did this in the past...I need to confirm this with him first...

Ok, so I'm going to New York, is this event gonna somethign that people can just show up to, like a panel, or will it be different? Reservations, tickets, anything like that?

Typically, you can attend most panels that a comic show has without any additional cost, just part of the package you paid for with your paid admission to the show.

When I talked to JayJay last, she mentioned that Jim might do this and film it to create a DVD product.

If this is the case, I can see how it might be a separate event from the convention, rather than just a panel at the convention. If it is a separate event, then I could see normal panel protocol not applying.
