Could Dark Horse Bring Defiant And Broadway Back?

Post by StarBrand »

I read over at the Dark Horse board they own the Defiant and Broadway properties. I didn't realize that.
If they're bringing back some of their Gold Key properties, could they be contemplate at some point bringing back Defiant and Broadway as well?
That would certainly be exciting times. I now see a ray of hope for these two dead universes. :thumb:

I really hope so. Dark Horse is a nice, steady company that would support a line like Defiant or Broadway. Isn't Shooter tight friends with Mike Richardson?

Dark Horse is known to take really hot properties away from other companies and support them for the long haul and they're really good at promoting them too. (The Goon, Rex Mundi, Conan....)

Anyone up for swarming the Dark Horse boards and asking for Defiant & Broadway to be brought back?

I'm in!

Cool! I'm a member there already and the editors/creators there are really good at responding to fans.

If Milestone was able to come back.....Defiant can do it too!

(plus it's a better universe...)

Absolutely! It's also possible they've already got it planned to bring Defiant back.

This contact section here is also good to get in touch with Dark Horse and they answer questions right away too:

http://www.darkhorse.com/Help/Contact

If enough fans write in and ask for Defiant/Broadway to be picked up.....that would definitely help!

(at least some remastered hardcover collections would rule too...)

I didn't read much Broadway either, but Star Seed, written by Shooter and co. was tremendous.

VEI should storm in and rescue the Broadway and Defiant properties along with Magnus and Solar then unify the Shooter-verses into one glorious, holy-light-shrouded super-universe and make everyone in the industry fall to their knees and worship them.

I hate to be bringer of bad news but I don't see any word on DH bringing
Defiant and/or Broadway back, and what is there is just fan conjecture and wishful thinking.

Dark Horse doesn't own the Defiant and Broadway properties, the same people who own the Gold Key characters are the ones who own the Broadway and Defiant characters. Now is it possible Dark Horse could license Broadway and Defiant? I guess if they thought they would sell.

I actually wouldn't mind seeing the ideas that Shooter had come up with for Valiant which did not get used until Broadway, integrated into the new Valiant. But, I would LOVE to see either or both come back in any form. I think they were great ideas and fun places to "visit".

Broadway was Defiant-Lite. :P Just kidding. Put those pitchforks and torches away.

In all seriousness I always though that Broadway was more like Defiant part 2 it seemed to me that the Broadway Universe was what Defiant Universe would have been if Defiant hadn't gone out of business.
