Red Hulk #4 spoilers ahead
I have been patiently waiting for Hulk #4 to come out. For some reason it seems like this book takes forever to come out.
It was worth the wait!
Not much on story development, but the Red Hulk / Green Hulk fight drawn by Ed Mcguiness really rocked! Did the Green Hulk's arm really break?
I can't wait to see the slugfest between Thor and the Red Hulk!
On the mystery front, it looks to me like all signs are starting to point to the Red Hulk being Doc Sampson. I was leaning towards Thunderbolt Ross until this issue threw in the quite obvious clue of the jacket Sampson was wearing.
Or maybe it was a Red Herring?
I still am holding on to my suspicion of it being Ross.
Now we wait until issue #5!

Been years but Maestro broke Hulks arm in Future Imperfect and it took some time to heal then too.Jrdawg wrote:I liked the first 3 issues but this one started off really goofy with the Watcher.I'll keep reading though.
Even if the Hulks arm broke, I think it would regenerate asap, no?
This isn't some godmodding Wolverine crap.
What we need is innovation and even revolution—but not so much in the form of marketing ploys and doohickeys. What is needed is bold creative vision, excellent stories, and brilliant storytelling, in a word, entertainment. -- Jim Shooter

I'm with you. I'm reading Thor and Ghost Rider and getting ready to drop Ghost Rider, and Thor too if it doesn't pick up soon. Everything else I've been reading has been DC or indy's. Okko, Cycle of Water HC was excellent I thought and I really enjoyed the Vertigo HC Cairo.Daniel Jackson wrote:Red Hulk...Green Hulk....huh? What is going on with Marvel?

See, I've had several bones broken. In fact, almost exactly two years ago (06/06/06) I had my jaw broken clean through in three different places at the mid-way point of a 20+ minute match. *After* having my jaw broken, I took shots from a ladder, chair, ring bell, etc. to the face. it hurt a lot, excruciating truth be told.
I didn't pass out, and I am nowhere NEAR as tough as the Hulk should be.
Then again, it is Loeb writing, and his track record has been utter dreck of late. Just *try* and read Ultimates, I dare you.

I can only guess that Hulk passed out from the Red Hulk continuing to twist his arm after it was broken. Which could happen....Byrneout wrote:Yes, but did the Hulk pass out from having his arm broken?MProyas wrote:Been years but Maestro broke Hulks arm in Future Imperfect and it took some time to heal then too.Jrdawg wrote:I liked the first 3 issues but this one started off really goofy with the Watcher.I'll keep reading though.

True it doesn't seem likely to happen to the Hulk after all, but I think that it's to show how powerful the Red Hulk is.
I have noticed a decline in a lot of what Marvel has been putting out. I've dropped Cable, the Ultimates, X-Force, and I'm thinking of dropping Uncanny X-men (I'm givibg it to 500)
I think the biggest reason I like this series is Ed Mcguinness's art. I love the way he draws the Hulk Red or Green. The mystery of who the Red Hulk is has been interesting as well.
King Size Hulk had some really good Art Adams artwork in it just giving that much more of a reason to like this series.
Also, notice that there is no piece on the Red Hulk from Doc Sampson's perspective in King Size Hulk. More proof that the Red Hulk is old Green-hair?

...Anyway.
I've been a bit impressed with the madness of Red Hulk, punching the Watcher and all round kicking off. It's fun.
I'm surprised so many people are down on Marvel adimtedly there's been some weird decisions of late (Spiderman, Loeb on Ultimates), but there's been some amazing comics coming out of there right now, Iron Fist, Daredevil, X-Factor, Captain America, Astonishing X-Men (and let's see what Ellis does with it), Runaways, Thunderbolts, Captain Britain, the recent Logan mini by Brian K Vaughn, Iron Man... and these are just the ones I've read.
Even Secret Invasion has a lot of fun about it and soon we've got Brubaker and Matt Fraction on the main X-Men book.
Good and bad comes in waves at all the major publishers, is DC really better right now, I know Geoff John's is on fire and there are some standout books, but especially after what I've been reading about Countdown and even Final Crisis, are DC really that much more solid?

you are probably right though, I can't recall if David had Hulk pass out but wouldn't be surprised. Gotta remember that most of these dweeb writers have never been in an actual fight.

Passing out from intense, sustained pain is possible, and passing out from short, intense pain is possible - if you're not a seasoned fighter.MProyas wrote:heh. no.Byrneout wrote:Yes, but did the Hulk pass out from having his arm broken?MProyas wrote:Been years but Maestro broke Hulks arm in Future Imperfect and it took some time to heal then too.Jrdawg wrote:I liked the first 3 issues but this one started off really goofy with the Watcher.I'll keep reading though.

Otherwise... you're going to get an adrenaline rush due to the endorphins spiking from your pain and anger. And guess what happens to green Hulk when his adrenaline starts flowing?
Oh, right... according to Hulk #4, the madder he gets, the more unconscious he gets...
