Valiant Characters

Post by jasont230 »

I was told that some of the Valiant Characters have been, or may be sold to Dark Horse? Is there any truth to this? I guess Dark Horse is publishing some large TPB's? Anyway, is there any hope that that we'll see any new comics from any of our old Valiant Characters?

Thanks,
Jason

Valiant (and Acclaim) never owner Solar, Magnus or Turok.
They have always been property of Dell/Gold Key/Whitman/Golden Books,
and licensed to Valiant (and later to Acclaim).

Acclaim still has an active license with Turok,
but Solar (specifically Dr. Solar) and Magnus have "gone back home".
Today, Random House owns Golden Books, and licenses
are handled by Classic Media, LLC.

Dark Horse has announced that they are reprinting the Gold Key books
for Dr. Solar and Magnus. iBooks has announced that they are working
on new Magnus stories (novels and graphic novels).
Dynamic Forces has announced that they are releasing Magnus and Solar
paper and acetate lithographs, fine art giclees, statues, busts, and dioramas.

The original Valiant characters... created by Valiant...
are still property of Acclaim, and dormant.
Magnus and Solar are "back" in terms of new product,
though I will be interested to see if the new products only resemble
the Gold Key incarnations.
