I think you are confusing Entity with Eternity, which is under Malibu. Two separate companies.

Gladstone is done. I think you might be thinking of Gemstone. Gemstone is the current comic company for the Disney books, I believe they are owned by the same folks who own Diamond Distributors. Ah, probably doesn't matter anyway, because Disney probably isn't what you had in mind. Here's the wikipedia entry for Gladstone, which mentions their demise: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gladstone_Publishing

Hall of Heroes is not smutty stuff at all, as far as I know. Creed was pretty mainstream for a while, had crossovers with the Turtles and such. The titles later went to Lightning Comics after Hall of Heroes stopped publishing.

i just dug out some HOH Creed, but i thought some of the other stuff was bad girl, but its cool.

Ok, i just updated and its getting pretty big on the DFT side of things.

I think i will definitely make the DU's the priority wants list.

I guess in about six months i can put up the mother of all wants lists here.

Well, there's always going to be a lot more defunct companies than Dead Universes, because only a small percentage of companies choose to do the shared continuity thing. I wouldn't be surprised if you've already got 99% of all the "Dead Universe" lines listed.

I found a couple sub-imprint lines under Epic Comics/Marvel:

Shadowline (DU, I'm assuming)
Heavy Hitters (thought it was a DU, but looks more like a line of creator owned properties)

Now I did like shadowline, which is definitely a DU.

Our good friend Mr Lapham, however did do an absolutely storming mini series recently of Terror, who came from the Shadowline books, also having his own book for about 13 issues.

Its goes in.

Heavy hitters is much like the Barkerverse stuff i guess.

How about the Marvel UK line from I believe the early 90's (Deaths Head , War Heads) You don't see Marvel really using any of these characters other than maybe Deaths Head(I believe they used in WWH last summer)

Heavy Hitters had some really big names creators (Peter David, George Perez, Chuck Dixon, Ron Lim, Howard Chalkin, and Joe Kubert just to name a few) and some of their stuff was really good.
I highly recommend buying: Sachs and Violins, Pinhead vs. Marshal Law: Law in Hell, Psycho-Naughts, Lawdog, Feud, Midnight Men, Dragon Lines, Dragon Lines II, and War Man and see what I mean.

I totally agree dude, some great creators and some really obscure titles that were probably over looked due to the overall amount of product at that time. I remember some really good books here.

These early seventies to early nineties reprints before Marvel Uk folded had their moments indeed.
There were very few original stories though, with Captain Britain being the first and also first in full colour ( well to begin with anyway).
Then later on Cap Britain was revamped (MSH # 377) in the last of the good Marvel Uk titles Marvel Super Heroes. This was magazine format and 10 issues into the Cap Britain revamp Alan Moore took over and the strip jumped and skipped to a few other (Daredevils & MSH v2 & finally Cap Britain Mag) mag sized reprint books with the Cap Britain books being the only original strips.

The first two Marvel Uk titles Mighty World of Marvel ( later changed to Marvel Comic & then eventually the mag format MSH) and Spiderman Weekly were the lynchpin of Marvel Uk, but 99.9% reprints.

There must have been over a hundred other titles in the 20 odd years they published but it was poor mans reprints in black and white or two tone colours, sometimes offering colour centre pages and nice oversized cover repro posters and even the odd original poster, some of which were pretty cool.
I even buy some old issues out of 25p bins for the posters

In the late 80's Marvel Uk put out Deaths Head ( transformers UK spin off) and Dragons Claws which were all new material in US format which was interesting but not so great in comparison with the US stuff to be fair, although both books had a nice following and still do.

Marvel Uk had a really bad attempt at emulating the US stuff with a Deaths Head revamp and ongoing series(which was only good to average after the revamp mini).

They ranged from Hells Angel (early Carlos Pacheco), later renamed Dark angel after apparently being sued by the actual Hells Angels (madness abound) to motormouth, Warheads, Death Metal, Death Wreck, Death3(all Deaths Head Rip offs x-overs), Killpower (Motormouth spin off)& Deaths Head, Gun Runner, Cyberspace 3000 (Galactus), Super Soldier( not the Van Damme movie), Mystech wars( Superb Brian Hitch art) and many more.

Again all in US format, but mainly dog crap on a stick with as many Wolverine, Ghost Rider and Cable appearances as humanly possible.

Dont get me wrong there were some good issues amongst the crapolla but 95 % poop.

Marvel UK-Frontier Comics-Mature reader creator owned Marvel UK characters.

Most definitely weird all the way, but no chance (

) of getting released again, so they go on the list.

They did a kinda Deaths Head revamp in the back of the newer Amazing Fantasy title and then they showed up as you mentioned. Weird looking stuff.

They did also did Dark Minds, Neon Cyber, Echo, War Lands, Shiadma, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Mega man, Devil May Cry, and few others but most were crap.

Gorilla Comics did release Shockrocket, Empire, and Crimson Tears
(I know it George Perez's Crimson something) I think DC or Dark Horse reprinted Stockrocket and DC did publish Empire. Perez tried to
get Crimson whatever but it's second publisher went under before he could finish it too.

Epic was an old idea that should probably stay dead, but you never know with Marvel.
