I noticed that too.xodacia81 wrote:For what it's worth, MOTA, I'd say you sounded a little like my old Spanish teacher. He's from Chihuahua but spent much of his life between 12 and 20 in Mexico City. I think part of the problem was that it sounded-maybe it was just my connection-like however you were interfaced, there was a little bit of vibration in the way the equipment picked up your voice.
I also noticed that at one point what I was saying stopped making sense, like only every second or third word came through clean while the rest was gargled.
Oh, wait, nothing I said made sense

I couldn't quite figure out what it was you were reminding me of.

So far at the Only the Valiant myspace page (gratuitous plug - http://www.myspace.com/onlythevaliant ), 4 Valiant fans have crawled out of the woodwork posting at various comic book forums at the myspace.
Not a bad start for 3 days.
edit - Wait - make that 5 Valiant fans. And these are not board members (as far as I know) that I am counting.

I get that a lot....TKWill wrote:

Hopefully....and this is rather important to me....the "In Person Effect" will take over. Lots of people who've met me in person, or spent any time with me over the phone, GET me in a way that the completely non-visual, non-verbal way of the written word doesn't quite convey.
Where I am typing "with passion", (the way I speak), many have interpreted that as "anger" or "emotional" or "condescending"....when, of course, that's not the case. I merely speak passionately about whatever I'm writing about at the moment, and am nothing like "angry" or "emotional" or "condescending."
They understand how I sound when I type "GET me."
Makes a bit of a difference. It's very difficult, as most of you know, to correctly convey in writing subtle shades of meaning that vocal inflection and tone of voice can convey in an instant.
Maybe the podcasts will win over some people who don't like the way I "come across" on the written only boards.

I guess that would be me. Oops. First time virginity, sorry.Brother J wrote:lots of good stuff in the newest one...
someone needs to turn off their AOL buddy list, I kept hearing the "door opening" sound in the background. Also heard someone's dogs barking at one point.
As far as the dogs....well.....now you know they're real.
On the advice of my attorney, I don't know what you're referring to.I liked Chiclo's pronunciation of Jack's last name (Boni-fac-chi).
I think at times I could hear ZWH getting exasperated with MOTA.
I didn't speak for quite some time, too...Was there a period in there where we didn't hear Chiclo or Dr. Solar speak for almost a half hour? It sure seemed like it.

How MotA sounded had more to do with the recording equipment, and possibly the internet connection than anything else.unknowntales wrote:Zeph sounded like the video store guy from clerks and MotA like Ricardo Montobaln under water.
Chiclo sounded like he was talking from behind a closed door in the raw recording, but I was able to tweak that with the EQ and make it sound normal. I tried to tweak the EQ to make MotA sound more "present", but I only had limited success. (I tried, MotA!)
Ahh, the joys of audio production..
