It's great right . . .

I think people may not bother clicking the link so I will paste the first post:
It's been a while since a good Greg Land complain-a-thon, so I thought I'd make it a little fun for everyone. Welcome to the Greg Land guessing game, where you must guess the answer to these particular questions such as:

What celebrity is that?

What emotion is that supposed to be?

Is that really the same character as last panel?

Let's begin, shall we?

1. What Celebrity is this?

2. The guy who parodies David Blaine on youtube
3. That's not a celebrity, Greg Land surely drew that picture completely freehand!

Answer: Highlight to reveal
1. David Blaine

7. What is this character's mutant power?
Image

1. To manipulate probability
2. To extend their own torso by over 50%, while simultaneously missing many ribs that would be required to be a fully functioning human being.

You mean, if Liefeld realized he could be tracing photos, instead of making up body proportions?

I think a lot of it is that Greg Land doesn't even try to draw on his own
anymore which is a shame he's a great artist in his own right. Where as guys like Alex Ross and Bryan Hitch who do use a lot of photo references they not so blatantly oblivious about it in their final art.

Yeah, there's a big difference in taking pictures of friends and associates for photo references for your art and just tracing over still frames from movies and using the same traced images multiple times.

I get on him more for his lack of consistency, Even liefeld could make a lame wolverine clone (pick any one from youngblood, brigade, knightstrike, etc) look the same during an issue, hyper extended muscle contortions or not.

Land buys a people magazine, an us weekly, and porn puts it on the light box and bam you have Ultimate Power.

I'd still rather look at inconsistent artwork. Liefeld's is just consistently *bad*.

I guess bashing Jim Shooter, Rob Liefield and John Byrne for the last 15-20 years was getting old. So has Land become one of the industry's newer whipping boys? I don't keep up with this stuff anymore.

For me, bashing Rob will never get old. :)

However, I don't agree with a lot of the criticism given to Land. So, I just compare him to Rob - which, admittedly, is much like comparing any given politician to a Nazi - it's not really fair.
