This colletion is great for a collector or someone getting gifts for a youth group or large number of older youth.

I mean, COME ON PEOPLE!
Who DOESN'T want that?
That's not a bad idea. I've donated large amounts of comics around Christmas time to a good cause before. Hey, we could all probably afford to donate some overprinted Valiants.StarBrand wrote:rlute11 wrote:I think I might buy these and give them as gifts to the kids in my youth group!

That's it all right, you can see a bunch of them stacked together in the third pic down on the right.schi0249 wrote:Not your imagination, unless it is mine too.Brother J wrote:Is it my imagination or does it look like the majority of the books underneath the top ones are more copies of the X-O Unity book with the Simonson cover?

There is a similar set of magnus robot fighter. There are a some harbinger issues, there are some Archer and Armstrong, there are some Shadowman, and some Rai. There are quite a few different comic books, but not 1529 different ones. There are quite a few sets like the one above, so there are multiple issues, but there is quite a variety in there.

That was pretty much along the lines of what I was thinking as well. I guess it gives you the mindset of the average speculator though. If you can get your hands on that many copies of an issue, do you really think it's going to be worth that much money?Escaflown4 wrote:It's called the remnants of a speculator that had dreams of putting their kids through college with that lot.

This "suggestion" by the seller just cracks me up.StarBrand wrote:StarBrand wrote:That's not a bad idea. I've donated large amounts of comics around Christmas time to a good cause before. I'm a Youth Director at a Lutheran Church. I have 20 or so kids every Wednesday night for High School Youth Group.
These kids don't read! Well, they read text messages and Myspace. If you gave them a comic book they wouldn't know what to do with it.
Completely honest guess: if I passed out a comic book to 20 kids, at the end of the night there would be 18 left on the floor. Two would take them home on accident.
Kids today don't WANT to read. They want to play video games. They want to watch movies and YouTube videos. Books are for school.
Reading requires more effort than they believe they should give. Entertainment is supposed to happen FOR them. It isn't supposed to take work.
Oh wait, I forgot about Harry Potter books.

Hmmmmm......
I guess I can't group ALL teenagers together. But, by and large, that's what I see.

You have more insight into it than I do, then. I must admit, I can't say for sure any of the kids I donated to enjoyed any of the comics I donated.rlute11 wrote:StarBrand wrote:This "suggestion" by the seller just cracks me up.StarBrand wrote:That's not a bad idea.
