Valiant Completists - Signed Books
Moderators: Daniel Jackson, greg
I just pulled a few nice NM/MT VVSS books :Rai #9 & #21, Magnus #25, X-O database #1 . Here is where it gets strange: X-O #14 & 15 signed by Sears both #1061/5000 sealed in a Valiant heavy milar holder with a gold seal of auth.
Then I also found a dark dominion #1 signed by Shooter with 3 defiant promo cards /5000. Any ideas??

Yeah something that always gets me about signed books w/ coas is that I always remember a story about a guy who made maybe 100 x-men #1 signed by someone and then printed up a bunch of COA's and sold them. He said that he will see one on ebay every once and a while...that kinda steers me away from paying a premium to have a comic with writing no it...however I would like to get that rai 0 on dino's page...depluto wrote:A friend of mine years ago used to own a shop, and we would head up to Miami during cons for autographs. Then I would whip up COAs on an old Mac, work in his logo and then he would sign and date them. I've never looked at COAs the same since.

At these same cons in Miami they actually printed up their own COAs (had their own table set up for it) and would sell them for $3 a pop. They were generic as to the artist; used to be a bunch of comic pros would go down there for cons. Easy place to be entertained.
In fact ...
I remember seeing one Valiant artist who was so bleary eyed at 11 a.m. that his eyes were almost swollen shut. He looked like a week-old puppy. Signed a few things for me, very nice guy. Name rhymes with tostada.
And another must have been a little mouthy to the hired help at the local watering hole ... he was sporting a shiner around his left eye.

The rai #0 is indeed cool as Dawg pointed out. We need our next VcVSS to look like this.

Mystery Solved
When Defiant cancelled their last card set, they sent out a letter thanking the retailer's who had ordered the cards. Included with the letter was a signed DD #1 by Shooter, with NO COA, plus three promo cards from the cancelled card set. I got this 'package' deal from two different local comic dealers. Mystery solved.---Steve Gryostar wrote:What about the Dark Dominion #1 signed by Shooter with 3 defiant promo cards /5000. Any ideas??

Should I add this to the list or is the list just valiant books?

I added more pictures to the gallery.
Previously, the collection of Joe Petrilak.
Come on, it's been like TWO MONTHS since I mentioned him.
It's one of the only GOOD books I actually got from him!
