On that splash ad they use the old Valiant logo...If they just unveiled a new logo why aren't they using that one????

I'm not sure what you mean. The only place that I see the old logo in that article
is on the "comparison" graphic that shows both logos and says "Previous" and "New". |

Its at the bottom, and you have to click on where it says .."more info' on the bottom window..heres what comes up... |

Oh, ok... I understand now.
The graphic you posted was the original advertisement from May in Previews.
The new logo wasn't in use that early... so the original was used.
After that ad, the dustjacket cover was normally shown without any compass at all.
It may have shown the original compass as well in some images.
The final is the new logo.
Both compasses are "similar enough" that the trademark for the original compass
would likely cover the new compass as well. VEI would be free to use both,
assuming their trademark for the original compass is approved.
They could also apply for a trademark for the new compass, if they want.
Either way, the new compass is what VEI has used on the final Harbinger hardcover product...

yeah, after reading more I realized that it was after that the new logo was released.
Thats what I get for sticking my head in the sand for the past few months!!  |
