Well, I'm not really an art collector, but I couldn't resist this piece Dan listed:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0053764052

That is absolutely one of my all time favorite comic covers, and I've seen (and owned!) a lot of comics. The chance to own an original piece, especially a beautiful color piece like this was too much to pass up.

Question: How easy is it to get a piece like this framed? I'm not sure of the size, but I'd really like to display it in my new house I'll be moving into in six months. Is it safe to display something like this? Sorry these are probably stupid questions, but I'd say this is easily the most I've ever spent on a piece of art, so I definitely want to take care of it.

A very nice piece and from the rare period when Valiant was changing coloring methods. Yu did nice and the art will get a god home.

Any framer can do it for you, or you can use standard materials yourself. As for comics, you need to make sure the materials are safe.

Not a stupid question at all. It is not safe for any sun-light what so ever. Especially not the blue colors. An inside corridor far from any window is the only possibility.

Just be sure and mount the art to an acid-free board. I'd even look at conservation-type mounting supplies. When I bought my Ninjak way back when, it was already pre-mounted on an acid board.

Once it's mounted, pick out a frame and then use UV glass. That's what I use on my Ninjak and all other photos I have framed.

Then like Magnus said, keep the art out of direct sunlight.

Enjoy for years.

yeah, she's cool about it. I guess I'm lucky in that she doesn't get mad about me buying comic stuff.

Should you ever be concerned about your wife discovering such an item in the future, just let me know. I offer *very* reasonable long term storage solutions in my hom... er, "state of the art storage facility".

Yeah, that's the ticket... ;)
