Favorite Malibu Ultraverse characters?
There a few I really enjoyed reading but as far as favorites go..... I would have to say:
1. Solitaire
Such a cool character, the opening fight scene in issue number six was insane!
2. Eliminator
He is ok, some reason I enjoy his books.
I am still reading through a lot of malibu so I may start to like more or hate the ones above after reading more of there books. Haha I am having a blast catching up on all these dead universes. VALIANT is still the best in my opinon though (best ever if you ask me).

I quite liked the jumping thing (as ridiculous as it was!), as a way to further differntiate him from Prime (although it made him closer to wonder Man in the process
), but also as a nod of the head to how Superman travelled originally.

I'd agree, but the 6 panel cover thingy on issues 1-6 didn't really work for me. recently read 1-12 (and double feature) in the course of a couple of days - what a great series! Shame about the assymetrical costume however.

3) Mantra was one of those books with an intresting concept a macho male
warrior's stuck in the body of a beautiful single mother.
2) Ultraforce-a simple concept that still works plus having Prerez on the first issues didn't hurt either.
1) Firearm-the best written Ultraverse book period.
I also have the limited edition VHS of the live action 30 minute preview that carries into the series' first arc.

Know this: I would rather be hated for being honest for my opinions, than being loved as a liar!

AGREED...dellamorte wrote:I remember the first year or so of Ultraverse books being pretty good across the board. After that I haven't read much.
I had always really liked Firearm, guy had no powers yet kicked some Ultra butt !!!
Hardcase and The Solution were another of my favorites.
Overall I thought the continuity within the Ultraverse was pretty good and for a 'beginner universe'. I was glad to get onboard from the begining and it felt pretty fresh but with some old concepts put into the mix making it familiar. It was just a 'fun' time and in a world of anti-heroes at the time, it was something I needed and Ultraverse was there.

Just tonight, I was trying to read some of the Phoenix Resurrection books from Ultraverse after Marvel bought them out.
It's rare that I put a book down without finishing it, particularly one involving so many characters with whom I am already familiar, but this was almost painful.
I would have to say my new favourite Malibu character is Breed, but he's Bravura.
