Who shot Sting(Harbinger)?

Post by eb41479 »

I'm fairly new to this despite owning a few beat-up old Valiant comics but, I was reading an article about Valiant comics where they mentioned a trusted member of the Harbinger kids was used by Harada to try to assasinate Sting. In what issue did this incident occur and who did it? I was guessing Harbinger #23 after seeing the cover and mention that Shatiqua's (the new girl) death,

I'm pretty sure they're referencing Harbinger #0...
which has two versions for reading, Pink (the coupon sendaway),
and the Blue reprint (included with the Harbinger TPB).

::SPOILER WARNING (for a 14 year old comic book) :D ::

Harbinger member Rachel Hopson had first introduced Sting to the Harbinger Foundation,
based upon receiving his letter response to their classified ad.
A little while later, Harada sent her to shoot Sting in the back of the head.

As you know Sting survived (unharmed) to appear in Harbinger #1.
I'm guessing that if you've never heard of Rachel Hopson,
it's because Harbinger #0 is her only appearance.

Only shooting by someone trusted was in issue 0, as detailed above. In issue 23, all the kids are used by Harada, to attack Sting.

Thanks for the answer to that little question. From what you've said about the assasin, she seems to have disappeared into obscurity or Harada probably killed or confined her somewhere. Maybe the writer thought it would be cliche to bring up that plot point again in a future story.

She was killed in the blast when Sting's mind stopped the bullet.

... and yet another reason to believe that the The Matrix's writers might have been VALIANT fans.

Ooops....I didn't know about that one. I was only around 13 or 14 when
I knew about Valiant during my beginnings as a comic collector. That time, I was more into Image (yeah the art was a draw)

Big explosion = death to those in the building except an Omega harbinger.

32 dead (including Hopson and three Eggbreaker level Harbingers), 200 injured.
It was a Harbinger Foundation facility (dorm) in Pittsburgh.

Well, it sure wasn't Perfessor Plum with Miss Scarlett... unless he was cutting her hair.

I shot the sherriff
But I didn't shoot the Harbinger.
I would agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.
