SDCC Valiant info....

Post by betterthanezra »

Ok this is just the start of announcements for SDCC....

I was waiting to post the time and date of the panel this year untill SDCC sent me the "official info" I recieved it today.

I am still in process of getting guests for the panel and I hope if things work out we will have a few BIG names this year (last year we had several BIG names)

The Valiant Panel will be held
Saturday July 22nd
Room 24a
1:30 - 3:00pm

The first Guest that has confirmed for the panel

Sean Chen
Howard Simpson
Mark McKenna
Mike McKone (tenative)
Dennis Calero
Ashley Wood
Scot Kolins
Paul Gulacy (tenative)
Tom Mandrake (tenative)
Ken Branch
Charles Yoakum

I would also like to know which Vf members are considering going this year so I can plan the goodies accordingly :thumb:

Brian, this is great to finally see an announcement of some sorts as the Con is weeks away.

I tried calling you yesterday to offer my help in contacting people to attend the Con... but there was no answer. Please give me a call if you could use any help with contacting folks (I know a few as you know... uh ya know ?) OR any work that needs to be done for the Con. I will be there as I am driving out with x-omatic and if anything needs to be done planning wise or even setting up wise... you have but to let me know and if I can do it... I'll do it.

Well, just like Zach's CGC 5.0 X-Men #1 - unless I hit the lotto, I won't be making it to SD this year.

*sigh*

I'll be going to San Diego (and I also have a booth.) I'll try to make the panel of Saturday but Saturday's usually the busiest day.

I'm wondering if I should bring Valiants though. Do you think there will be enough Valiant buyers there to justify it? (I was thinking of only bringing Pre-Unity Valiants... but bringing about a thousand of them.)

Well it would be great to see you there. I would say bring yer stuff. The Valiant Fans from this site alone might buy you out but consider also that a lot of us are cheap *SQUEE* !!! Last year and at the NYC Con we scoffed at the high priced Valiant issues and I do not think that anyone picked them up. Everybody likes a good deal.

If you price them right the will sell. Last year almost no dealer had any pre-unity books. Many expressed that there was interest for them but they didn't have room to bring any.

If you bought a lot you would have a corner on the market at the show.

:hm:

Is there any interest in Unity issues? Since there's only a limited amount of actual pre-Unity issues, we're talking many, many copies of each probably. (Plus the later issues and Vol 2 issues.) The last couple of days, I've been finding packs of Harbinger #3 and X-O #6 for some reason as I go through long boxes I've never opened before to get ready for the Con.

What pricing would you like to see? These are basically unread warehouse stock. Many are still in bags of 10 or 20.

If you guys need some free copies for the Valiant panel or whatever and want to get something signed in quantity... let me know. (Although Post-Unity would be better probably or Unity. I've got hundreds of Unity 0 and Unity 1.)

I for one would like to apoligize to my valiantfans.com members....

I have been run SO thin since I got back from NY...I am litteraly working 13-15 hours each day at both jobs. This has cut into my preparing and getting the Valiantfans panel together....we will have it.

I am still working on bringing some VERY cool guests...Other members have offered to help and while I have said "yes please" I have yet to give them a list of who is coming so they could check with other past Valiant artists/editors/writers/production.

The show is right around the corner if you have ANY connections please make them and let me know...right now anything is game.

Thanks.....and I'm sorry

Don't you have that job interview for that big company in SD in July?
