New annual Overstreet Valiant errors
Anyone else notice the rampant errors and oversights when it comes to Overstreet?
For instance last issues are not broken out. Turok 47 = $2.50
or Magnus 0 $8 with card / $3 without
or Harbinger 1, Rai 3 & 4 at $10 each while Rai 1 = $14
CEAR = $5; (somebody quick sell me one, I'll give you $20!) there is also an erroneous listing for an alpha gold variant
Unity Red = $3
And looking up Shadowman:
V2 -- missing the Glow-in-dark variant and all retailer reviews. But lists a #0 gold ?? (The 0 gold is also correctly listed under V1)
V3 -- only went to issue 5 in Nov. 1999; missing #6 completely and issue 1 & 2 variants. Also, V3 # 1 is listed at $4.00; 2-5 at $2.50
Unity 2000 # 3 = $2.50
Armorines V2 -- the title indicates it went 4 issues, the listing is only for 1-3
No listing for the Predator/Magnus trade. The list goes on....
They also entirely dismiss the VVSS productions.
I usually hold Overstreet in high esteem but it seems sad that Wizard is so much more current re: Valiant/Acclaim prices and activity.

Overstreet is useless when it comes to Modern comics. You can get a better sense of things from Mile High's website database, which still isn't saying much. Overstreet says that it doesn't care about correctly pricing Modern books in all their spew before the listings. It is very inaccurate as to what was or wasn't produced. What a waste of money.---Steve

Greg can only do so much. I know Greg has tried to straighten it out with them, but I'm sure it's a low-priority item.hulk181man wrote:Anyone else notice the rampant errors and oversights when it comes to Overstreet?

I always thought they should wait 20 years before something gets into the Overstreet. So it would be a book that added titles each year, but the ones from 20 years previous. So this year we would have been treated to books from 1986. They could make excpetions for long running titles, of course. This way they could focus on the back issue market versus the modern market.
The newer books should have their own guide so it would not have to worry about stuff from 1965.

4 years and no correction --- guess they really don't care. I wonder if that might change if/when the characters see print again....

Books priced badly in Overstreet vs. the real market:
http://www.valiantcomics.com/valiant/ov ... tiples.asp
Books listed in Overstreet (or other guides) that don't exist:
http://www.valiantcomics.com/valiant/doesntexist.asp
They left my Market Report out of the Overstreet this year,
even though they have me listed twice in the front of the book
(Special Advisors and Acknowledgements), and they updated
my photo among the advisors at the back.
In fact, five advisors listed alphabetically between H - I
are missing in the market reports... so I'm thinking they
omitted at least a page of market reports.
That's not as bad as forgetting to put in the grading guide!
(There's no mention of how to grade a comic this year,
unless you count the grading guide for Big Little Books!)
Anyway, as an Overstreet Advisor, I highly recommend that
everyone buy the Standard Catalog of Comic Books 4th Edition
by Krause Publications this year.

Some people spend their whole lives believing in fairy tales, usually because they don't want to give up the fabulous prizes.

I think I'll carry along a book with a photocopied Overstreet cover on it and tell the store clerk/owner that I don't mind paying OS prices as I;m trying to complete a collection, something like that......

I noticed all of this before you mentioned it here. I kind of looked for your Market Report and didnt see it. I noticed you had credits as an advisor and I also noticed your pic was updated.greg wrote: They left my Market Report out of the Overstreet this year,

Was rather miffed when I didnt see the report.
Did I miss seeing you post it here this year? If so, anyone have a link? If not...care to share what it would have said?

Looks like I did miss it. Thanks for the link. I will check it out now. In my defense, I can only say thats about the time I was getting married. So, I wasnt here much during that timeframe.
Thanks again!
