I had called around looking for stores with cheap bins... well this one store pulled out all the Valiant, Ultraverse, Bravura etc boxes that they had in the store... well, traffic was bad and I got to that store kind of late only to find some dude pouring through the box of Valiants that they pulled for me... he had in his hand Harbinger 1-2 and Solar 10 (1st) and more... all for a buck. So, I missed out on those but still... glow in the dark
Showing up only to have someone else rummaging through them first. Sounds like some my luck is rubbing off on you Knightt. Glad to see you got the glow in the dark Shadowman though.

I stopped by a comic shop in State College yesterday (GO Penn State) and took 2 of their 5 copies of Valiant in the entire store. All commons but 50 cents each for ones I needed. Arrrrggggggghhhh! They looked at me like I was from Mars when I asked if there were any others around.

Interesting note: He asked if I had heard someone may buy the rights to the Valiant universe. I said I heard something about it.
:!: Man! I was hoping to hit this shop when I go up in April for the Blue/White game. Now I find out he has S**T!!

ARE THERE ANY COMIC SHOPS LEFT IN PA WITH CHEAP VALIANTS! :!:

Hey Solar, did you hit the 'Skeller?
:thumb:
Nah, I saw it as I was passing but 1) I don't drink and 2) I was running late for a Motorcycle Club meeting (the real reason I was in State College).
Yeah, where are all the LCS with the Valiants??? Maybe we have to cross over into MD.

I saw the gold in there but this statement worried me so I passed.

I figured a VF Gold issue is still worth a bit and there are a lot of other books there too.

I might get burned though, I won't know until they get here. :hope:

Yeah, that's not good. I can see that the spines on those books are curled upwards - probably from being unbagged. $3 + shipping is still a steal.

sorry for your bad luck on that, man. :(

That's cool that you're from Reading, you're probably closer than anyone on this board to where I used to live. I was born in Pottstown and lived in the Exton/West Chester area before I moved to Milwaukee six years ago. I even used to work at a comic shop in Pottstown when I was a teenager. Do any of the local shops have any Valiants, or did you already buy all the good ones? :D

Is Golden Eagle your regular shop or are there some better shops out that way?

to everyone else, sorry to be a derailer.... :P

I use to live in West Chester PA. It sounds like that's were you use to live Brother J but I'm not sure. I LOVED that area and was pretty upset when my parents moved. It's my goal to eventually get back to the East Coast in the next 5-10 years. Although I already decided I'd retire in Ireland! ;)

Actually, I lived out in the sticks, but when I tell people where I'm from I mention Exton and West Chester because they're the closest places around that people from outside the area might have heard of. I lived right off Route 100 about a mile south of a little area called Ludwig's Corner, which is basically just the intersection of Route 401 and 100. I worked 3rd shift at the Sunoco at 401 and 100 for a number of years, so if you were ever out that way late at night and stopped at that store about 10 years back, you probably saw me. My favorite part of that job was making hoagies for the drunks that would come in around 3:00 in the morning on the weekends!

Again, sorry to be :offtopic:

We now return you to more great Valiant deals....

Yea the Golden Eagle is one of my favs in the area. (it doesn't hurt that the owner goes to my church  ). But their prices are still pretty high for back issues.

I just picked up a copy of Bloodshot # 6 vvss for $4 :D

I asked the shop owner if he had any more Valiant comics and he said no. He never got into them even when they were still in business. All he had were about 5 books in the Valiant section of his boxes. I did see another box laying on the side with some autographed stuff. In it were X-O vol 2 # 5, Q&W # 1 variant cover, and there was one other Acclaim book. No COA with them and they were 10 dollars each. I just left them there since i was unsure of them.
