Episode 20: A Very Merry Valiant Holiday Special is now available!

We take you back to December, 1993, a month when the Valiant Universe celebrated Christmas. We explore the Valiant holiday season. This is the perfect episode to go along with your favorite comics, staying warm by the fire, and enjoying a cup of cocoa (or something stronger!)

The weather outside is frightful, but this episode is so delightful. This episode has all the Valiant goodness you could hope for, in addition:
  • Hear how romantic relationships can impede super heroics, and learn the three things a super hero should NEVER do if they want to avoid the doghouse (Don't make these mistakes yourself!)
  • Find out what REALLY happens in a battle when one of the combatants is armed with a powerful, sentient suit of armor. Most comics get this painful wrong.
  • Witness how being a barbarian from the 4th century can lead to instant arousal of of the women around you, even if she is a corporate spy hired by the mob!
  • Discover Armstrong's secret connection to that other eternal warrior, Santa Claus.
  • Star Trek fans take note: pause and reflect with us on the life of someone who has had a lasting impact on the Trek universe.
  • The most important super power to have to avoid being eaten by spider aliens. Make sure you, or one of your friends have this ability when planning a weekend getaway.
  • Discover why the first amendment right to Freedom of Religion is so important to Sven the spider alien.
  • If you are a hoodlum, ne'er do well, ruffian, etc., learn which month is the BEST and SAFEST for business.
  • Despite what you are inclined to think, why you should NOT read a story about a man in a giant mouse costume being attacked by a horde of ninjas.
  • Strategists Beware! How the future proves that the world is NOT like the game Risk. Australia is NOT the key to global domination.
  • Listen to the end for a special story about an exciting Christmas Eve night for a lucky comic shop owner. If you miss this, you will be kicking yourself for weeks!

Dr Solar - I don't know how much in advance you guys plan the podcasts . . . but if you know about certain topics that will be discussed or certain guest appearances (i.e. JayJay recently), maybe you can solicit questions from listeners. That way there will be more interaction with the listeners. Just a suggestion.

Great idea! Often, the topics get figured out a day or two before hand, but sometimes we plan much more in advance. In the case of the interview with JayJay, it came together REALLY quick after Zeph's initial legwork in New York. I know that we will be recording an Archer & Armstrong episode soon, and talking about the new hardcover.

The flipside is that I don't want to ruin any surprise of who the special guests are!

I’ve just started listening the podcasts—they’ve been really good. I’ve especially enjoyed the Unity discussion and JayJay interviews. Keep up the good work—Thanks! :thumb:

I just listened to the podcast for the first time ever (episode 20). Entertaining. But one thing bugged me... the pronunciation of Solar and Aric. I'm not sure who it was that pronounced them So-LAR and AR-ick but it drove me nuts! It's soh-ler (as in "solar energy") and AIR-ik (just like "Eric").

But otherwise, I enjoyed the podcast and I can get over that one little thing. Good work, guys!
