Re: Re:
Let me know how you like the Badger. After I read my Nexus run, I hope to find a set of The Badger, as I have enjoyed the character each time he has guested in Nexus. I also dig the fact that there seems to be a lot of Wisconsin references in the book.newt138 wrote:Knightt wrote:Scored some INCREDIBLE swag this weekend.

that's an excellent price! many of them will sell for $5-10 eachBrother J wrote:In line with my recent Arrow Comics checklist, I just won these:

24 different issues of The Deadworld described as being in VF/NM condition for $10.25 shipped. I happily would pay 50 cents each for these books at a local show, so I'm very happy with this price.

Re: Bragging rights - your best Dead Universe deal of late?
I just got the Hero TV Vol. 1 VHS for four bucks. I'm not sure if it was a great deal but it was a better deal than the wrinkled copy of Spitfire and the Troubleshooters #5 that I got for fifty cents. But its a New Universe title so I wanted it and the story was worth it.
P.S. Can anybody help me find the thread about the Hero TV tapes? I can't seem to find it, no matter how hard I look.

Awesome coverage of Mongrel. So George Romero was attached for a movie version....Robocop without cops....sounds like it would have been gritty and awesome if made back then. I remember the sketches of Mongrel inside the Plasm TPB too. Where it had some added names for the character.Jay Tomio wrote:David Lapham MONGREL OA (DEFIANT):

I blogged a bit about the litho that this art was used for here:
http://dungeonmanual.com/david-lapham-m ... omic-book/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Will post this in art section, but figured it might be of interest to Dead Uni peeps and DEFIANT loyalists.
Edit - NM, art area of board is VALIANT only
I used to watch the old '90s QVC comic shows back in the day but never saw the Shooter ones.

Re: Bragging rights - your best Dead Universe deal of late?
The ones I remember had George Perez and Dan Jurgens selling comics in those shows. And Steve Sansweet for the Star Wars stuff. I still have my universal lightsaber tv remote control from them.Jay Tomio wrote:I for sure caught the one where he debuted the line (I remember those signed Warriors of Plasm #1's) but I can't for the life of me recall if I saw this litho on the episodes I watched. I, oddly, vividly remember them selling a Valeria the She Bat litho on another show (which I'd like to have).I used to watch the old '90s QVC comic shows back in the day but never saw the Shooter ones.

Re: Bragging rights - your best Dead Universe deal of late?
I loved those QVC shows - any of the comics ones were fun. I bought several items from them - no Defiant books, but Dark Empire gold set and maybe a platinum set too. Some other autographed books here and there. Don't have any of them anymore, but it was fun to see comics guys on-screen talking about the books.

Re: Bragging rights - your best Dead Universe deal of late?
here's my neat-o Dead Universe find of the week. So I did an eBay search and came up with this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/110724933958?ss ... 285wt_1037" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
For all intents and purposes, it looks to be the Cyberrad Diamond Previews TPB. It had a Buy It Now of $4.99 plus $5.00 shipping. $10 is a nice price for this trade, but my concern was the picture in the listing:

Looks like there is some kind of damage on the top portion of the book. So I sent them a message via eBay, to which they failed to respond. The listing lists a phone number and says to call if you need to get in touch with them. It's New Dimension Comics, which is a pretty big and well known shop and seller on eBay. So I call the store and get someone to help. After they tracked down the item (he thought I was saying "Cyber-rat" and couldn't understand why he couldn't find it), I asked about the possible damage. I also mentioned it was supposed to be a trade paperback, to which he said "can't be, it's not thick enough". Well, what looked like damage was nothing other than I assume a trick of the light, but it turned out the item was just the cover, with no comics inside. I asked if it looked like the guts had been ripped out, which he responded it did not. Anyway, I thanked him for his help and thought about it for a while. Wasn't sure if I wanted to pay $10 just for the cover, even though it sounded like a unique item. I noticed the Best Offer feature, so I offered $2.50. To my surprise, he did accept it and it arrived in today's mail. It appears to be an unused cover from the Cyberrad trade. Kind of curious as to where he might have acquired it, but I think it's kind of a neat item.

Well now that is interesting.
Almost as cool as when Knightt and I got ours for $8 a piece.
Maybe more interesting since yours is more of a one-of-a-kind thing.

Hmmm no CyberRat guts ? Definitely an interesting find.
And "YEAH BUDDY, Chiclo !!" At $8 a piece, that was an uber-find !!! Hell, I am STILL stoked about that !!!

Especially when I still have Jason "Spyda" Adams arguing with me that they "DO NOT EXIST".
Maybe madness DOES run in the family ?
I say, "Have at thee, b!tch !!!"

Re: Bragging rights - your best Dead Universe deal of late?
We should have a mass debate over it.
Sorry couldn't resist.

I've mass-debated over less... I can't remember her name though.
Hell, I've even mass-debated in public... I can't remember where though.

Shop near here has Walking Deads in the 40s, 50, 60s for 1/2 cover ... is that a really good deal?
Re: Bragging rights - your best Dead Universe deal of late?
Not trying to be a smart@ss but are The Walking Dead comics a Dead Universe yet ? If so, this is news to me and I am shocked, I thought these were like $#it-hot books ?
Re: Bragging rights - your best Dead Universe deal of late?
They do have "Dead" in the title.

The Walking Dead Universe? NO! Say it ain't so!Knightt wrote:Not trying to be a smart@ss but are The Walking Dead comics a Dead Universe yet ? If so, this is news to me and I am shocked, I thought these were like $#it-hot books ?
I will sooner collect Maximum and Awesome before I collect the Walking Dead!
Does someone have a Maximum or Awesome checklist? Maybe I could take one off of somebody's hands if they aren't doing anything with that?
