The green label on autographed books isn't a bad thing. To me anyway. You tell me that my EW 1 Gold Embossed 9.8 signed by Shooter wouldn't go for as much as an unisgned one, and I might have to list it to prove you wrong! :D

I'm not big on signed books but that one is hard for me to part with. I had trouble sending it into CGC. Didn't want it to leave my benevolent protection. :P I should scan and post it.

I sold a CGC 9.8 Magnus 1 double signed by Nichols and Shooter to a board member that should probably also be posted. Maybe if he hears me it will appear! :D

I'm going to send a few more signed ones in on my next pre-screen and see if they can cut the mustard.

Only at a picnic, CKB....

On another note, it's nice to see Hobo getting his Green/Purple thing all straightened out...;)

Man, you know...CGC's REALLLLLY gotta figure out what they're doing.

Were you all aware that the New Dimension 'warehouse' copies of miracleman, the ones they've been hotslapping foil on 20 YEARS after manufacture....are getting UNIVERSAL GRADES????

HUH???

A. When did ND become Eclipse Comics?

B. When did ADDING something to a book POST PRODUCTION become ok on a 'Universal' grade?

C. I'm going to buy out the "Image/Maximum Press/Awesome Comics" warehouse copies of Brigade #1 gold, Youngblood #0 gold, etc etc etc (oh wait...I already did) hotstamp them with platinum foil, and DANG if I don't get a Universal 9.9!

Maybe they are taking the position that it is no longer an Eclipse Miracleman at this point, and grading it as a New Dimension book. What does the verbage on the label look like?

Hobo knows....

But..so what? Even if ND WERE a publisher (they're not)...they're STILL not the publisher of THESE BOOKS....and even if they WERE....they can't take the books and alter them 20 years later...no matter HOW NICE the alteration may be...and grade them Universal.

These boys gots ta gets their act together.

I think that cgc has taken the stance that they will put whatever you want on a label however you want it if you submit enough books. Chuckie did it with his MH2 books. Not all of the MH2 books sent in by chuckie get the notation on the label in the pedigree location on the label just one batch that he sent in to them. Anyone else that sends in a MH2 book, even with documentation will not get the notation on the label. :thumb:

Not with that shipping price. You can get them much cheaper if you look.

Here's a link to a CGC'd one, but I don't think you can see the label very well:

I was going to bid on this. It isn't Valiant but I really like Paul Popes work. But then I saw the shipping :o $60.00 to ship one 11x17 piece of paper! I emailed the seller to see if it was correct. They never replied so I didn't bid. No way in hell I am gonna pay that much for shipping from Canada.

Got the 'great condition for its age' nonsense....turned out to be a VG. Pic in the description wasn't THE ACTUAL BOOK...seller said 'well, garsh, I thought you woulda know'd that by the pic icon thingie in the bottom'...dumbARSE....

Then...I say 'I wouldn't have paid more than $X for this.' Seller responds with 'well, you didn't...you paid less than that.'

I replied...'what, you think shipping was free? That's not what my bank says.'

Sigh. I'm so tired of idiot sellers. 'Well, you only paid such and such for this book, it was a STEAL!'

Um...NO...PULL your HEAD out...SHIPPING isn't FREE!

Idiots.

So...books are described as 'mint', right?

I get the books...they're all F/VF, VF-, VF copies.

Here's the back cover to a Lady Death #3 that was described as 'Mint'. I know you can't see it very well, but those creases? They're a good solid 2 inches. As always, scans make creases look LESS than they really are.

Image

Here's the Veng of Vamp #3...no, it's not ragged...but look at the spine. It's BEAT. That's the back cover, the front cover's the same.

Image

There's nothing WRONG with VF or lower books...EXCEPT THAT THEY'RE NOT MINT!!...AND HAD THEY BEEN ACCURATELY DESCRIBED...I....WOULD...HAVE...PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHYYYYYY is this SUCH a difficult CONCEPT for these IDIOTS to GRASP????????????????

I SWEAR to GOD I want to bust some skulls over crap like this.

<breathe...breeeeathe>

There. Much better now.

Seller's response?

"Sorry, the books were mint when they left me"

I say "well, no, they weren't."

Seller responds:

"You're just some dealer trying to upgrade your crappy copies with my mint ones. No deal."

Setting aside the fact that the seller thinks I'm lying, and am trying to rob him, let's consider something:

I'm a salaried GM-in-training for a construction company/carpenter shop. We handle roughly $1.5-$2 mil a year in business. I project manage most of that business.

Please...someone please tell me why I would waste my time like this for $28? Do I HONESTLY have nothing better to do than INVENT nonsense like this?

No, sorry, what fuels this is the everlasting PRINCIPLE which guides me: don't call F/VF books 'mint' and expect to get away with it.

The seller's phone? Surprise surprise...not valid.
