Has there ever been a more appropriate title? Valiant has gone scorched earth on its fans more times than I can count. I wonder if we all have a bit of a Stockholm Syndrome thing going on at this point.

I was highly skeptical of the timeline and their ability to handle the logistics, but I backed anyway.

I would imagine this KS gets added to the two other comics KSs that didn't deliver (still looking at you Liefeld).

While feeling sceptical in light of recent Valiant News, I do hope that this project still crosses the finish line. If they’re not entirely going under in the near future and are just pulling some bone-head-scratching “re-structuring” manoeuvres, then maybe this book will get produced.

The money is there to fund it already… so unless they’re going to declare bankruptcy in the near future there’s really no good excuse to *not* see the commitment through to make it happen - as long as *someone* still works there, haha!

It sure will foment some fresh bad blood between fans and the company if they renege on delivering this one.

The money WAS there. It all comes down to whether they set it aside to facilitate the creation and shipping* of this KS or did they turn it into a Ponzi scheme (intentionally or not) to cover some of the costs of the past year. Whether it ends up good or not, I do hope it ships, but the news from Valiant the last couple weeks certainly indicates some truly dire cash flow issues.

My guess is they are pausing Book of Shadows to put out Bloodshot because Bloodshot's creative team is paid and they need the cash to pay the Book of Shadows team. Just my pessimistic guess, but that shell game can only go on for so long.

Absolutely not. That is the risk of all crowd funding and Kickstarter has a million and one disclaimers to that point. It was always a risk.

Hey Valiant Fans!
We know it's been a while since the last update but we're thrilled to let you know that the ETERNAL WARRIOR: SCORCHED EARTH original graphic novel that you've been waiting for is nearly complete! The colors and letters are all complete and undergoing the rigorous editing process to ensure the quality product that our amazing fans have come to expect from us!

Stay tuned for more updates soon to come! In the meantime, our Backerkit pledge manager store remains open for now, so make sure you have all the goodies you want before it closes!

I'm not sure it is exciting news tbh: no mention of a delivery window and the fact it's still undergoing "editing" at this point seems like bad news to me. Surely this thing should be running through the printing presses by now if the book is to make it to the distributor by the end of the month?

I'm told that the Kickstarter fulfillment isn't even being handled by any of the New York-based Valiant personnel but by DMG directly. So while I fully support all the fine folks at Valiant, I am not so sure DMG wouldn't just cut and run on this. I hope they prove me wrong, but the NFT situation makes me think they're not super concerned about meeting commitments made to paying fans.

Also that update is not attributed to a named person. That's not a great sign either in my opinion, nor is it good community building. Kickstarter could have been such a good avenue for them to publish more content and invigorate their fanbase, but they're blowing that aspect in my opinion.

We hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving holiday!

Progress on the ETERNAL WARRIOR: SCORCHED EARTH OGN continues! Unfortunately, due to factors outside of our control including the world wide paper shortage, there are some delays. The delay shouldn’t be long and we’ll keep you updated as things develop. Rest assured that we’re doing everything in our power to get this book to you as soon as possible at the high level of quality you expect and deserve!
