This will be fun to see. Less than 5k to go and I think my timeframe is pretty decent...though it's a good cluster around 2 weeks from now.

Sorry, Bugsy. The only members with a chance are those who posted times before mine. If it hasn't hit 1 million by the time we pass Zero's guess, then it will be me or Elery who wins. I'll make it so...BugsySig wrote:This will be fun to see. Less than 5k to go and I think my timeframe is pretty decent...though it's a good cluster around 2 weeks from now.

Re: 1 Million Posts Contest-Guess the DAY & HOUR & Win!- CLO
I came by my guess my figuring out the rate of posts. The only question is what the best time frame was to use to determine that. (It was actually a combo of how many posts were made within a certain time frame, and the time frame it took to accumulate a certain number of posts.brucehartshorn wrote:Everyone just keep posting at your current rate........It will all be fine.......![]()

Wow--I just saw that 4 of us picked times in between 9 PM on the 30th and 6 PM on the 1st. Guess we all used the same rough math!

I was calculating about 150 posts per day avg, but there really is no way to predict the posting patterns

Re: 1 Million Posts Contest-Guess the DAY & HOUR & Win!- CLO
One of the calculations I made, since we were about 5500 posts away when I determined my pick, was how long it took for the previous 5500 posts to be made. I then did the same for the previous 550 posts and multiplied the time by 10, and a few similar calculations, and averaged them together. I figured it would be late in the day on 7/10, but I picked an earlier time because when I chose my time it was about in the middle of the next closest active pick before and after.drmirage wrote:I was calculating about 150 posts per day avg, but there really is no way to predict the posting patterns

I don't think calculations matter -- The generous amount of prizes for this contest is a game changing variable
If i'm leonmallet - and I have the time and energy
I create a "Just Leon" thread and go to work

Re: 1 Million Posts Contest-Guess the DAY & HOUR & Win!- CLO
Perhaps, but obviously gaming the contest is probably a good way to irk some people on the boards. And considering the strength of the community here, I don't think it's something that any of the regulars would do, or want to do.bygranddesign wrote:I don't think calculations matter -- The generous amount of prizes for this contest is a game changing variable

And I should amend my previous post and say its not something I would ever do
Just pointing out that its something that could be done easily - and it would make any good guess moot.

Wasn't that what everyone did?

That's like winning dirty if you include Dunlow posts ...

Alone, listless, breakfast table in an otherwise empty room.
Re: 1 Million Posts Contest-Guess the DAY & HOUR & Win!- CLO
day one i thought this was a strangely winnable contest. anyone who gets mad over "rigging" the game didn't think the game through completely.
i say cheers to who ever manages to post in a way that wins them the game!
come on leon!
