Thats outstanding!!!!
Thanks dino!
Generating...... meaning they might be released by early 09, but the process of creating them will be started end of 08. That is how I took what Dino said.
Reguardless, I think what Dino told us is great, wonderful. How cool that he came in a told us what we wanted to hear.
I am looking forward to official info. release by VEI later this year.
Now I guess the next thing is...... who be the creators?

I read that the same way and I can wait til the beginning or middle of next year for some new books since I haven't picked up a brand new Valiant book in over 10 years! (I stopped reading them by the time VH2 was around)
This is awesome and I think this is the kind of information that everybody on this board was waiting for!

Not sure what you are referring to, thread contains no new information. Just reiterating and clarifying what has already been said in previous releases.Elveen wrote: Reguardless, I think what Dino told us is great, wonderful. How cool that he came in a told us what we wanted to hear.
Careful not to confuse it with rumors and hearsay. Official statements are always in the Valiant Announcements section and at ValiantEntertainment.comk_c_collectibles wrote: This is the kind of information that I, (along with many other people I am sure), have been waiting to hear.![]()

well, I think to be honest, we were starting to worry that you guys weren't going to actually meet that goal. I also think a lot of people started to worry when there wasn't some kind of presentation or announcement at SDCC. Just consider many of us "Nervous Nellies"dino wrote:An old boneBrother J wrote:Now THAT's what we want to hear. Thanks for throwing us a bone!dino wrote:

SDCC is a good place to show off a catalog of previously published content in the hopes of getting a movie deal and to announce a movie deal. You'll notice all the big news that came out of SDCC this year was from the movie panels (Terminator 4, Watchmen, Wolverine, Wolfman, T2on etc.). Also, a pretty good place to announce comic news if you want to make sure no one will ever hear about it.Brother J wrote:well, I think to be honest, we were starting to worry that you guys weren't going to actually meet that goal. We make announcements on done deals. Not promises we hope to keep. I know it can be frustrating but I assure you lots of work is going on behind the scenes. All the things I see being talked about here and many more are being explored, tried, planned, already done etc.

So what convention would be the one to watch for Valiant?dino wrote: SDCC is a good place to show off a catalog of previously published content in the hopes of getting a movie deal and to announce a movie deal. New York, Wizard's World Chicago, etc.
With the economy the way it is, it would be nice to know which con next year would be the best to attend.
Thanks,

We will make announcements prior to a convention where we have a presence. The announcements will be made with ample time for everyone who wishes to attend to plan ahead.Fanboy375 wrote:So what convention would be the one to watch for Valiant?dino wrote: SDCC is a good place to show off a catalog of previously published content in the hopes of getting a movie deal and to announce a movie deal. With each passing convention i've been hoping there would be a VEI announcement. I will continue to do the same - and am glad that you stand firm at announceing done deals only.dino wrote:

I hope everything clicks well from here on out and that you sign the creative personel at the top of your wish list.

I think what some people are forgetting regarding new books, is that it takes time to put the logistics in place to begin making the books AND, further, that any new company-even ones that have previously established properties to work with-never just jump in.
I think VEI is being very smart, given the way the market currently is. So far, everything they have said, has happened and the two HC's have been HIGH END products, with the A&A looking to blow away the others, in terms of extras, by many miles. Also, remember, VALIANT was founded in 1989, but it took them roughly 2 years before Magnus was released, so, I'm not too worried about VEI. If it takes them until mid 2009 or a little later to get monthlies, so what?
I'd rather have them take the time they need, get it right, make it work and last, then rush things. Shooter, back in 89, knew that slow and steady won the race. Yes, they got sidetracked with Nintendo & WWF, but that's beside the point. On target, it's when everyone rushed to cash in the chips that things fell apart. I applaud Dino, Walt and the rest of VEI for sticking to what they have said.

edit:
Actually, I guess it doesn't. There is no mention of if they are going to be monthlies or just some throw-ins at the end of a bunch of HC collections.
You guys are ahead of the curve on Valiant. You have to wait for the rest to catch up. Now is the time to collect and re-release the original Valiant stories. The hardcovers are high end products aimed at those who know Valiant. They get people talking about Valiant, and new people asking about Valiant. The new stories included in the hardcovers, on the other hand, are extensions of the original stories by the original creators. They are created with you in mind. A love letter to the biggest fans from the original creators.

It has a cover date of May, so it was probably released around Feb' of 91. I think VALIANT and Voyager were started in early 89, so, if right, then roughly 2 years from incorportation to the dawn of the VU.yardstick wrote:xodacia81 wrote:I think what some people are forgetting regarding new books, is that it takes time to put the logistics in place to begin making the books AND, further, that any new company-even ones that have previously established properties to work with-never just jump in.

Ain't that the sad truth. San Diego is no longer a comic show.dino wrote:Also, a pretty good place to announce comic news if you want to make sure no one will ever hear about it.
