Yeah I love the coloring of the originals, hopefully it's more of a re-mastering than a re-coloring.
Any idea why they would do a re-coloring? Something production related?

I love the original, but maybe they are trying to give a more current look by recoloring.

Just guessing, but there is quite a difference between the color originals and the printed comics in terms of how vivid the colors are. Maybe the production requires better originals than can be extracted from the books. The inks however can be extracted and then recolored.

And I totally agree with Frank.

Wasn't there a little back story of Harada on the coupons in the issues? (I distinctly remember seeing a Harada as a child in a boardroom.) Could Shooter be revisiting that or have dug up his old notes?

Not that it really matters either way. :)

That's almost a week before the catalogs are in anyone's hands next Wednesday.
As it is now, the details are "leaked" early, but since they only posted on the Diamond
website early this morning, I'd say the fans are STILL the first to know.
We're the only guys who are already informed these first few hours...
(...though I would imagine the news will continue to travel fast!)

:D :thumb:

P.S. I did not know about the Shooter story for the Harada origin!
Bravo!

(I've also edited the first post...) :thumb:
thank the power of frenchness :thumb: (or at least décalage horaire  )

Maybe we did not learn befoe everybody but at least we try not to be the last...news are being spread across boards like masterworks and such....

The perfect answer to who is illustrating it, unless it turns out to be just the cards and or script pages, is Lapham. I don't know if he would do it, however. If they have to get someone else, well, Shooter himself draws a little. Maybe he did the art. It won't be great, but it'll be serviceable.

why wouldn't lapham do it if he has the time...he did work for Big Jim at defiant too and I don't remember hearing that they parted on poor terms...maybe Dino and Jason have been talking to him... :hm:

It is interesting that the artist wasn't mentioned.

Lapham is writing books for DC and Marvel, as well as continuing Stray Bullets for El Capitan (although there hasn't been a new one for a while). So it's hard to say how much time he has, but it would be awesome to see him doing Valiant stuff again. Although his style has progressed a lot since the Valiant 'house style' days.

It's hard to tell from the scans, but if I had to guess an artist I would say Paul Creddick ( ) with Layton applying the inks. The boy genius taking over a company is an interesting story for Shooter to write since he was something of a boy genius himself and was top dog at Marvel at such a young age.

He was writing and doing page/cover layouts for Legion at about that age from what I understand.

This and the following issues were his first published books. Shooter submitted scripts and detailed layouts to DC and they were so impressed they published them.
