Here are the rarest of the Acclaim

Shadowman Special Edition
Valiant Heroes Special
Shadowman VH2 GBU variant
Turok Evolution EB games variant
Shadowman VH3 #1 priced variant
Armorines VH3 #4

I would say that the GBU comes up the most often and the Shadowman SE comes up the least.

Sometimes, I see auctions, and I think to myself...."if only I had known. If only I had waited." But, hindsight is 20/20.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0013950118

That's an X-Men run. If it's NM, it's sold for about 71 cents an issue, or less than the average cover price for all those books. In that lot, there are keys 201, 205, 210-213, 221 and 222. Those books themselves guide for farrr more than this lot sold for.

I spent, at one point, $10 each to get #210-213, back in 1991-92. I spent $2 each for the rest. $5 for the #205.

Who could have known that, 16-17 years later, you'd be able to but the entire run for 71 cents a copy?

And then I beat myself for missing auctions like this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0013874695

Again, assuming they're NM, no one will ever find a deal like this except on eBay. The complete McFarlane run, including 330 and 340, plus 324 and the entire Byrne run, for 40 cents a book? Insanity.

Wow.

Nearly $1,000 for a 9.8 late 80's DC book.

Yes, yes, the census.

Wow.

Some people spend their whole lives believing in fairy tales, usually because they don't want to give up the fabulous prizes.

That was F-VF copy without the coupon, if it's the same one I was looking at.

This one.

And I was wrong. It sold for $2.25. I emailed the guy, it did have a coup.

pretty low grade, Fine minus. I probably wouldn't have paid much more, even with the coupon.
