Big props to my flea market comic guy Mike (Purple Gorilla at Crossroads Market), he knows I'm a Valiant fan and said he would keep his eye out for stuff and boy did he deliver this past week-

Image

I got Solar #60 (final issue), Magnus #25 VVSS (my first VVSS) #62 and #64 (final issue), XO #60 and #62-68 (final issue) for $50 (worked out to about $3.80/issue).

That finished off my runs of Solar, Magnus and XO :cloud9:

Grabbed a bunch of Valiants for 40 bones from a large bulk collector. He gave me a good price, and had a bunch of other valiants/acclaims I might pickup down the road. I gave him some advice on some books he had miss-priced (he had a stack of Spawn 9s for $3/each that I passed on).

Magnus: 7,8, 39, 40, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46,47,53
Vintage Magnus #4 (x2)

Trying not to buy stuff since I really can't afford to but I recently picked up The Spirit's Casebook of True Haunted Houses and Ghosts by Will Eisner for 49 cents at Goodwill.

That's pretty nice, I love seeing sketch covers.

The artist obviously put a lot of work in to that one.

Today I found The Strain: The Fall, Issue 1 and 2, and then decided to check the stack of books right before it (because there was a bunch of 'The Fall' books).
I grabbed 5 issues of The Strain #1 for 1.25/piece :o , 2 issues of #1 variant for 3.99/piece, and issues 2-4 for cover.

I'm debating about grabbing some of the others because there were multiples of issue 2, 3, 6, etc.

Since I bought these, I sold two issues of $1 for $55 on ebay, and a packaged-deal of both #1s for $100 off ebay. I recommend you guys check your LCS back issues bin, this series is on fire, and might have some legs!

I'm holding on to my other copies, I here the TV show is going to be made by the guy who did Pan's Labyrinth.

Local show with a few more dealers I went straight to a guy that I found some pre-unities in the past. He didn't have any $1 boxes, but I did snag some key/semi key recent issues. Grabbed these for $3 a piece:
deadpool 42 x2 (G.I. tribute)
deadpool 45
ASM 431 (carnage cover)
Web of SpiderMan 118 ($3 from a different dealer).

The above dealer has a bunch of other first series deadpools...do you guys think it's worth grabbing the rest for cover? I know the print run dies off near the end.

Stopped by a new shop and found some Acclaim gems in NM:
Armorines 1
Unity 2000 1
Magnus 18
$3, plus a free Rai preview book.

Still trying to decide what my regular shop is going to be, but finding some gems in the process.
