I like the fact that one of the selling points of the auction was that the CGC case was in perfect condition.ZephyrWasHOT!! wrote:Isn't it MIND boggling that someone will pay $11 for a copy of this book in AVERAGE, WORN condition....when they can buy a PERFECT copy (ungraded, natch) for $2 or so?Shakespeare wrote:Great cover, but the condition?

It's back.
Does anybody else find this whole auction offensive as hell?
I sure do.
"I know...let's put up a book that, on a good day, wouldn't sell for more than $100, as a CHARITY auction....and dupe the charity into thinking this is worth that....and then KEEP $2000 for a $100 book! What a killer way to make $$$!!!"
This kind of crap just offends me to no end.

It is one of the worst types of Auctions I have ever seen. He hides behind Tsunami relief as a way to draw interest and pull at unknowing people's pocketbooks.
As bad as the Tsunami was, the fact he keeps $2000 on a $100 book makes him a thief on a level that is equal to the Tsunami. Did anyone buy the last one, because I agree, this is sickening to the highest degree. :x

You point is very valid, Zeph, but you are being hard on the 7.0s of the world. A CGC 7.0 could be a 9.8 with a small tear on the back cover - doesn't have to be worn at all. I didn't see scans of this particular book, though.

I smell a big time scam with this guy. No descriptions, no feedback, no grades, no cgc notes and yet people are bidding.

Interesting. Seems they're gambling their money to see if they can pick up something nice on the cheap. You're probably right though. Why would a 0 FB seller start off with such a great book. Who's going to bid their best on a 0 FB seller? Not many.dellamorte wrote:I smell a big time scam with this guy. No descriptions, no feedback, no grades, no cgc notes and yet people are bidding.

WARNING: Avoid ebay seller "Happycomicsguy" at ALL COST. He is a serious shill bidder and dishonest seller. After confronting him with his multiple shill accounts he was forced to take his comic auction down. He has several valiant auctions up that I would be very, very wary of bidding on. Just look at his recent feedback.

Frightening.
Anyone notice the '9.4 CGC Spidey #6' auction end for $360? Wouldn't that be a kick in the butt if it was for real...?
Hobo...you won the Cap #30...any news?

Yup, the word thus far is that it don't appear ta be happnin' as PayPal is not letting any money go thru to the seller. Go figure. I figured getting a 2k+ book for less than 600 was "too goo to b troo." But, we'll see, I've e-mailed the seller, but as of today, have heard nuthin'. Luckily, out no $ either.
Still . . .

Still . . .

I DO NOT EAT, DRINK OR ABSORB SOULS, DAMMIT!

Another auction for which this topic is MADE for....
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 59872&rd=1
A whole 10%! Wow! So, after list and FVF fees, the guy's making, what, $15+ on about $5 worth of books?
Scandalous.
