Im not going to diss and not sure if it made the list before. The guy has a lot of ebay auctions out there, and a lot of the time it looks good. But there is something about "the Tomb" that just scares me from buying. Is that rain I see in some of these pictures? Check out pages 2,3,4.

Hey, This guy is local to me here on Long Island, I met him at an auction a few months back. He offered to have me come to his warehouse for some bulk bronze age purchasing, but I haven't gone yet.gowaltrip wrote:Im not going to diss and not sure if it made the list before. His name's Lou.
He was telling me about 'the Tomb', it's an old moldy warehouse full of newsstand returns. Simply tons and tons of comics and magazines all jumbled up and piled everywhere. When they work in the tomb, they all wear masks over their mouths because of all the dust and other floating spores and junk.
I bought an Action 252 (first Supergirl) from him that had blue distributor ink overspray on it, he said he has tons of oversprayed comics. I believe him. Anyway, one day soon, I'm going to call and make an appointment to go comic-spelunking at his place, I have a feeling he may have some bronze age price variants...

I think that is dust floating around that got on the camera lense. I bet there are a few rats in there. They just love to chew paper.

Please note the creative use of flash-glare in an attempt to disguise the spine-wear on this "NM" book. Good crop job too -- lets you see the best part of the book only . . .

This guy's a dope. I e-mailed him, letting him know that this book sells for about $20 on eBay, and he had the chutzpah to not only e-mail me back telling me I was wrong...but decided to display his stubborn ignorance as an addition to the description.

Quick warning,
If you were thinking about bidding on this guys auctions (since he has a Rai 1-4 with BIN of $25) - I suggest you don't. I won an auction of his a while back, (ironically Rai 1-5) and sent payment and he never sent the comics.

I wouldn't buy anything from him just looking at his feedback. Sorry to hear what he did to you, but seems like you're not his only victim. I'm amazed he didn't get banned yet. He doesn't have much feedbacks and he ripped like 4-5 people off already. Also he doesn't even go into specifics on the condition of the Rai books. "Great condition" is usually a cover up for some bad copies.cjv wrote:Quick warning,

his inclusion of magnus # 5 and the lack of pic makes it looks like he is actually selling the flipbookscjv wrote:Quick warning,

When I bought from him, he had a feedback of 90% or 91%. I don't buy from anyone with less than 90%, so it has gone down since I won the auction. The other thing was that his prior feedback had indicated problems with late shipping, which I wasn't really concerned with (as opposed to simply NOT shipping, which happened to me). Lastly, the price was good, WITH pictures of the Rai books, so I thought it was a good risk.
Silly me.

I actually did ask him (before I realized who it was) if they were the Rai series or the magnus flip books. His response was one word - "ongoing".riftt wrote:his inclusion of magnus # 5 and the lack of pic makes it looks like he is actually selling the flipbookscjv wrote:Quick warning,

Isn't it MIND boggling that someone will pay $11 for a copy of this book in AVERAGE, WORN condition....when they can buy a PERFECT copy (ungraded, natch) for $2 or so?Shakespeare wrote:Great cover, but the condition?

Mind blowing.
