I actually happened across the Ebay lot you won the other day, as I was checking out a seller and found it. I was even going to ask you how nice it was. I'm a little of a fan.carter3175 wrote:Heck, I wish I was as lucky the 1st time I bought my 1st copy on ebay. ..the raw I paid for was more than that...I sending this out for grading!

Smaller than most - larger than some. But just pitiful in that I don't own all that I would like.carter3175 wrote:Bosco how many comics are in your collection?

The description talks about EW but the title and picture states Rai.

This Spawn #222 variant was sitting on the shelf at my shop so I calmly picked it up and got it at the register for $2.69:

My stash of Invincible #1 Larry's variants had been dwindling so when I saw 5 copies for $7 each, I jumped at that. All were very nice NM or better copies. Will likely flip a few when they go back up (this book is always up and down depending on availability).
Groo #1 Artist Edition - $50. Not a great deal, but I love me some Sergio.
I went to a shop that had a $1 sale on all back issues from runs that the character is not currently in print. I was able to pick up the following for better than what I'd do at a con:
- Tomb of Dracula - About 20 issues from the mid 30s and up. Haven't graded them yet, but appear to be mid to high grade.
- Several Loki and Immortal Iron Fist variants. Not pricey at all on the open market, but for a buck apiece, they'll go in the collection.
- Strangers in Paradise Homage #1 and Abstract #1 - again, not a money book at all, but cool to have any SiP #1s.

Re: Bragging rights - your best deal of late?
I just picked up a 1:50 Shadowman for $29.95, it must be the only one in the city as I scoured the shops on release day and only this shop had any where near 50 copies. It's bagged and boarded from diamond with little sticker on the flap that says "1 in 50 blah blah blah". I asked about it on release day but they said it was gone, maybe they were holding it for someone else who ended up declining it for what ever reason, oh well their loss my gain
I pulled it out to have a close look and it had 2 super minor micro dings on the spine and stranegely enough the same little minor dent on the V logo box as was visible on the copy VALIANT posted on their fb page. Over all really good shape, very happy. Shadowman 1 is well represented in my collection, I think this is my favourite cover to date from Valiant. I've loved it since I saw the first preview, never expected to even see it much less get it for $30. I never would have paid $50 but at $30 how could I say no

They have to be 9.8s or it's not worth slabbing them to flip. And even that can be risky. They seem to move for $50+ now, but I know I bought my 9.8 slab for about $20 shipped a long time ago.
I probably have a few 9.8s, but I tend to flip my lower grade copies and keep the better ones.

Nice win! That definitely fell through the cracks, but since you only want the review book Brian, I'll take the Shadow Man Vol.3s!betterthanezra wrote:Picked this action up...

And wouldn't be awesome if you had a variant or two thrown in those Shadowmans!
