Won a nice auction on some Justice Machine books......16 in total, including two Noble issues, a ton of Innovation, and even a Millenium issue or two.
This helps out greatly, as I was able to get almost the entire Comico run @ my LCS.
Score!

Wait, they brought them back?BruceReville wrote:Hopefully DC does more with them than they did when they brought the Milestone characters back.xodacia81 wrote:My understanding is that since the Wildstorm characters have been shown as coming from one of the 52 Earths in the DC Multiverse, we're pretty much assured that they will be used at some point. My guess is it won't be right after the books cease publication, which I believe is January. You're not going to see them enter the DCU mainstream the next month. You may, however, start feeling ripples of things in the late spring or mid-summer. My guess is they will linger around the edges, at first, before making a full entrance and my other guess is you aren't going to see them at all for a good 4-12 months once things wrap up on the line.sbcomics wrote:I'm pretty sure DC bought the rights to the characters when Jim Lee sold them WildStorm back in 1998. But since Jim Lee is the co-publisher of DC right now, I don't see them going anywhere else even if he could.
I could see giving the characters a couple years' rest and then if nothing else bringing out omnibus-type editions of the "glory days" of the titles. Or even relaunching them at some point.

OH now I like THAT... I scored 8 or so uncut printer's proofs from Valiant a few weeks back (Magnus, Solar, A&A and X-O Manowar). I should snag some pics of these and post 'em up as well.vikingspawn wrote:And an uncut copy of "Dogs of War" #1:
I love those kind of fluke books... not that they are in error or anything but it is a fluke that they have survived all these years.

You were at the Lehigh Valley Con? Didn't see you!Brother J wrote: I came across two large size books at a local show from Piranha, Epicurus the Sage. I almost bought them, because it was Sam Kieth stuff, but the cheap *SQUEE* in me won out. Seller wanted $3 a book and I was focusing on .50 bins.![]()
... I ended up snagging those Epicurus books.

yeah, I was there. I thought that show pretty much sucked, hardly anything worth buying in the cheap boxes. There's one guy who has been at every show I have gone to in the area, and I always find some decent books in his .50 stuff.Doorman wrote:You were at the Lehigh Valley Con? I was also disappointed with the con, myself (although it was neat to speak with the Dark One). Which guy are you referring to? The guy with two tables nearest the food counter? He had a 100 comics for $30 deal - otherwise they're 50 cents.Brother J wrote:yeah, I was there. I thought that show pretty much sucked, hardly anything worth buying in the cheap boxes. yeah, that's him. I never can find 100 books I want at one time, though and I'm not going to buy stuff I really don't want to get close to it.Doorman wrote:I was also disappointed with the con, myself (although it was neat to speak with the Dark One). oh, by the way, I did take the time to talk with Tim Truman as I love his stuff. I asked him if he had any Turok pages, but he said all of that stuff is long gone. I didn't hang around too long, as I knew I didn't want to spend what limited money I had at his table.Doorman wrote:I was also disappointed with the con, myself (although it was neat to speak with the Dark One). I believe he used to run a show in Stroudsburg, up by the Poconos, I went there, once, maybe twice. Way too far for me to drive for a show, though. I believe it was fairly close to the Frazetta museum, wish I had gone there when I had the chance.Doorman wrote:s'what i figured. that's glen - he's always got plenty of goodies!Brother J wrote:yeah, that's him. There was a show in Philly today, had to miss it, as the wife and I just got back home from a night in Hershey, checking out "Christmas in Hershey".

I went to a shop today and rummaged through their quarter boxes, I pulled the following
Visitor 1 (2 copies), 5, 6, 7 (all newsstand)
Ninjak 00 (2 copies), 15, 16, 17 (all newsstand)
Not too bad right? But then I also found these gems in the quarter boxes
Visitor vs. the Valiant Universe 1 (2 copies) newsstand
Destroyer 0 newsstand
Oh yeah, the shop was having a 50% off sale that included the quarter boxes, so all the books listed above cost me 12.5 cents each.
